I've just found PART 2 after 2 days of no-life searchings, lol. Finished watching in few second ago, and I can say that I just was in shocked and... cried. THE SECOND PART is too sad. :( But the movie is truly amazing. If you want PART 2 get it from link uphead.

Why even compare the two? HP has it's own theme park, and J.K. Rowling has made an entire new world, not just a bit of a twist of past books in the Twilight saga. Girls only freak out over Twilight because of Edward and Jacob. And Jacob's abs every few minutes.

Rowling created a fascinating an completely new world of magic. Whereas Meyer only gave a little twist to previous stories.

Check out Box Office Mojo.. all the HP films have beat Twilight (or destoryed) overall. In America and worldwide. And the reviews from critics for HP are almost 100 times better than Twilghts. I mean Twilight got a 50/100 on RT, New Moon got like a 20/100, and Eclipse got like a 50... All HP films have gotten from a 78 to a 90..
I agree with a lot of people on here that Harry Potter is better than Twilight. But you have to look at the release dates when people will actually have the opportunity to go see the film. November = school. July = summer. Lets just wait and see what ranking(s) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II will bring in when it releases in the Summer of '11. ;D

In my very humble opinion, Harry Potter is way too complicated. I am seventeen and I am never able to relate to the story very well. There are too many interconnecting fictional legends and too much mythology. Also, there are too many character parts, that really are not necessary. I conclude that there are too many sloppy, boring seconds. Twilight is a simple and classic franchise, with a couple of stories forming a good blend. I am a big HP fan!!! But, overall, my vote must go to Twilight.
That's just the US box office. Isn't it? But if you look at HP's international performance at the box office its much higher than Twilight's. Now why is that? Maybe because HP has greater appeal internationally.

Twilight is not a bad series. I personally like both, because they are so freakishly different. The reason why I think that HP7 didn't do so well is that it is a much more serious plot than previously and for a much more mature audience. So people couldn't bring their kids or it may just be harder to find time to go to the movies now that the target audience has grown up. Not to mention the "heaviness" of the plot. You have to really commit before going to see a movie that involved.

Definitely shouldn't be that way! I'm a HUGE fan of both book series! Movies are never quite as good as their books, but I have to say that the New Moon movie was great in comparison to its novel counterpart. While the Harry Potter Deathly Hollows book was MUCH better than it's movie (first half), the movie was still wayyyyy better than the New Moon movie ever could be!!!
Harry Potter will probably make more money than Eclipse in the end and there is still Pt 2. Breaking dawn pt 1 is a year away and pt 2 2 years away. Why even compare the two? HP has it's own theme park, and J.K. Rowling has made an entire new world, not just a bit of a twist of past books in the Twilight saga. Girls only freak out over Twilight because of Edward and Jacob. And Jacob's abs every few minutes.

I agree with envylover. Twilight should not even have a comparison with Harry potter. The originality of the Harry potter series is in a much higher level than the twilight series. J.K. Check out Box Office Mojo.. all the HP films have beat Twilight (or destoryed) overall. In America and worldwide. And the reviews from critics for HP are almost 100 times better than Twilghts. I mean Twilight got a 50/100 on RT, New Moon got like a 20/100, and Eclipse got like a 50... All HP films have gotten from a 78 to a 90..

New Moon was released on summer, when many people could watch it, HP is released in November, when kids study hard and people work. This year Deathly Hallows and Eclipse have been released and HP beat it. HP pwns.

In my very humble opinion, Harry Potter is way too complicated. I am seventeen and I am never able to relate to the story very well. There are too many interconnecting fictional legends and too much mythology. Also, there are too many character parts, that really are not necessary. I conclude that there are too many sloppy, boring seconds. Twilight is a simple and classic franchise, with a couple of stories forming a good blend. I am a big HP fan!!! But, overall, my vote must go to Twilight.

Twilight is not a bad series. I personally like both, because they are so freakishly different. The reason why I think that HP7 didn't do so well is that it is a much more serious plot than previously and for a much more mature audience. So people couldn't bring their kids or it may just be harder to find time to go to the movies now that the target audience has grown up. Not to mention the "heaviness" of the plot. You have to really commit before going to see a movie that involved.

Movies are never quite as good as their books, but I have to say that the New Moon movie was great in comparison to its novel counterpart. While the Harry Potter Deathly Hollows book was MUCH better than it's movie (first half), the movie was still wayyyyy better than the New Moon movie ever could be!!!
