Is it just me or was a couple of removed frames where he does the kick to make it look snappier? Look at the boxers feet that suddenly turns about 90 degrees when the kick comes.

I was attempting to convey the legitimacy of the fight in showing that Mercer was indeed a qualified boxer. While he was, in my humble opinion, never great, he was skilled and a heavy hitter. Those boxing fans that claim he was "unknown," and that an mma practicioner would not stand a chance against a "real boxer" clearly have no idea what they are talking about.

@ericsiegfried86 Mercer, was on a losing streak when he left boxing. He had taken a brutal beating from 6'6" Wladimir Klitschko and was ko'ed by Shannon Briggs in what looked to be a punch that barely landed. I don't know how will any boxer would do in their against a legit kick boxer, but Mercer just got hurt and didn't want to continue. It wasn't like Mercer was knocked off his feet of even staggered. He simply turned his back and only he knows why he made the decision to quit.

@ericsiegfried86 Actually a TUF reality TV show washout (Abe Wagner) also KO'ed him in 30 seconds. Kimbo Slice choked him out in a minute & if Tim went in that fight looking to grapple instead of kickbox Mercer would have probably lost. Tim was never the top ranking heavyweight in the sport, the best fighters where in pride when he was UFC champ. He wouldn't have even been a two time champion if Mir wasn't injured in a motorcycle accident. UFC HW division is way better now compared to his day.

@Immortalsyn83 Mercer lost to Kimbo on a choke. Wasn't Kimbo supposed to be a standup fighter and striker. When he faced Mercer, he knew Mercer rep of having a good chin. So he chose not to engage Mercer in what I thought would be a slugfest. Mercer lost fair and square. Just like Tim got his ass KTFO by Mercer, no what ifs. What if Mercer was still in his 20's and willingly to train and make a decent weight for a fight. You know Mercer at 201lbs was fast, great chin and had a good punch.

@sinusbradycardia Kimbo was a brawler, he didn't have any professional combat sport experience when he fought Mercer. Kimbo rushed to tie up with him & wisely took the fight to the ground as Tim should have done as well. Instead he wants to stand up & trade with a pro boxer... I loved Mercer after he KO'ed Sylvia but still don't know what he was thinking. It's not like Sylvia is a beacon of health, he wouldn't even make the weight limit for the UFC heavyweight division anymore.
