it real fat on the sound, has a LOT ob low end frequencies, bass freq, how do oyu control them when you record for better quality without damaging the guitars sound ???
@L7dreamtheaterfan - This AS73 Ibanez can best handle open chords tuning and any kind of tunings. I can't see why it can't. Thanks for liking it. Cheers mate!
@DonLubiano Ah, thank you much. The main problem I've had with all my cheaper guitars is that they never want to stay in tune when I tune it up. Most of the time because of a cheap nut or cheap tuners
I just got the ibanez as73 tcr (with a vibrato). I fucking love it. I can play melodic soft jazz in the neck pickup, but when the bridge pickup is distorted, with just a little crunch, it literally screams, just like youde expect an Ibanez too.
I'm sorry..but I would like to know how do you find that guitar..I've a fender stratocaster amenrican standard..but I like a lot the designe of that guitar...How does it cost??Is it expensive??and what kind of soun it poduces??
@rivettos It is about $550 and I've heard its great! I don'y own one, but i've been told you could play just about any genre of music (excluding metal) with it. I'm thinking of getting one :)
@dugingers I don't know where you get $550. I bought myself an Ibanez Artcore AS73B (the simple blue finish, not the one w/ the gold) and it was $260. The other AS73 variants there were all $350. This was at Sam Ash.
@rivettos - This kind of Guitar stands out in rythmic and melodic jazz and blues sound, especially clean tones. Your Fender Strat is a standard for Lead Guitar. Both models and brand are good as complimentary partners in a band, but they are different from each other. My personal opinion. Cheers!
@RenegadePoliceForce depends what sound you want. but if you couldnt tell acoustic guitars sound totally different than hollowbody electrics. so my answer would be HELL NO!! get yourself a nice taylor
2 cents worth. If you run a Jazz Box in a high volume environment adjust the pickups farther away from the strings. This makes the guitar not so "hot" and you will have to get your volume from your amp. Feedback is the string being pulled by the poles on the pickup, and the resonance at high volume adds to this effect. Move the pickups down some will help a lot with reducing feedback.
very well done if i could give more than a 5star rateing it would probly be a little bit over a million haha. guitar sounds great, and very well played
The guitars you name here are very different. I think that the ibanez as-73 is the best choice. this is a guitar for blues, jazz and rock as well. The handling is superb, quality and look are very very good and also the price. It´s the best choice, believe me.
i like the prs se custom 24, but the neck is too fat for my liking. i would probably get either and ibanez as73 or an ibanez sa120. i am trying to decide between those two.
Bro! I really love PRS! I can't play and I want tot learn and that's why I want one. I like the Slightly hotter pick ups in the SE Cust. 24, but I love the Cherry sunburst on the SE Cust. 22! WTF! to do! I love the Ibanez semi Hollows, but I like better the EWC30 it is Beautiful in natural finish. Then again the SE is the lower End mode of PRS, but it;s like BMW 3 seires it isn't the lowest end, it's still high end. Their are differences, but in the END it's what you feel comfortable with.
Honestly..it's still hardly audible unplugged although it's semi hollow. It's stll basically not built to be played acoustically unplugged. The magic will still come out from it plugged BUT it retains and enrich its acoustic sound features.
Thnaks for the compliments! I used a Fender Champion 300X here. Nothing beats the natural tones of Fender amps when using a semi-hollow guitar like this. CHEERS!
Yup...I purchased mine from SAM ASH and got it shipped to Manila which brought my total cost to around USD 700. This guitar is worth more than a USD 1K for me though - such quality it carries!

at the moment i have a BC Rich warlock, which gives a buzzy, kind of electric sound, good for death metal and grunge and other sludgy sounds, but im no longer with my death metal band, we were called son of a bitch. now that that failed, i think im just gonna keep guitar as a hobby, maybe do a solo project, i play drums, guitar, and sing,i just need to learn bass, and i can mix it all with Garage Band. I just want something with a more clean sound, not such a thick, electric sound.
Hi there! Oh yes! Of course, it depends on your speaker and amplifier quality to bring out the high quality of this beautiful guitar. Mine sounds best on a Fender amplifier ( Roland amps do not suit this guitar!) Cheers!
Hey any thoughts on the AS93 versus the AFS75T? I've got a lead on both and I'm a beginner. I assume the AS93 is sort of an upscale version of the AS73. Am I wrong? Thanks for your insights. I like an acoustic sound but also want some versatility. Oh, I already have an AXD81.
Hi bro...the AS93 is more versatile in terms of looks and sound quality. I've always liked the double cutaway, semi-hollow bodied, and "no-pick guard" design of the AS73 and AS93. This way, you can play it from Rock to Jazz without it being out of place in looks and sounds. Cheers!
hi man, the soud its so gorgeus, im thinking about buy that guitar, the model is as73 335 is the same model as you? you use 0,11? any effect? you use a original captadors? thx !
Yes, you're right about the string gauges. I also maintained all stock pick-ups in their original state. I am certain you'll never go wrong with an AS73. Play on brother!
Massive props mate. I loved this tune of yours and the hollow body does well. I've been wanting to get one for awhile and this definitely tuned me into it. Cheers.
i picked the AF75 instead of this cuz i like to play acousticly widout an amp and sometimes play wid one. did i pick the right choice? or is that guitar louder unplugged? Thanks
Well the AF75 being a full hollow body suits your purpose alright. The AS73 is semi-hollow (with the soundblock). The reason however I went for the AS73 is because of its streamlined design ( double cutaway, no pick guard...) which for me is a beauty. Regards!
In my opinion my friend, I would go for this same Ibanez AS73 over the Epiphone Dot because it's simply BETTER in all aspects. I don't like the way it mimics the Gibson model and the position of the Dot's jack input right at its front. AS73 has more depth and personality. Cheers!
The tuners generally holds well the tune. There is a consistent slight slip on the "G" whenever I carry it on a soft case to gigs. Then I read a review saying same thing about the slip on the "G" tuner. So, this is a slight ( flat 1/4 note slip ) black sheep amongst the 6 tuners where the others hold perfectly well.
I've been interested in this guitar and I have actually played it at the shop before, but I forget pretty much how it feels. Is the neck flat on the back (U shaped neck contour) like a wizard neck on a solidbody ibanez, or is it rounded?
The fretboards flat and a bit wider than the thin neck of a Fender Strat- but complimented with a smoothly rounded back (perfect contour) which makes it a perfect fit for thin and long fingered players like me. I'm surprised you didn't take this home the 1st time you played it!
Yeah, i know, i would have taken that thing home if i could have, but i didn't have any money at the time. I think it's gone now.
But, that seems to be the problem with most guitars made in china is that they all have that slight slip on the g string. I guess if you just replaced the bridge, nut, and tuners, or just one of those three, that should fix the problem,
Honestly..I think RED is the best and only color for an AS73 ( Cherry Red/ Wine Red ). Other colors don't reflect this guitar's true personality. Cheers bro!
Nice job bro, very nice. I'm looking into one of these guitars myself, but I need to start saving. I loved the tempo of the song, it was real chill and mellow, but fast enough to keep my intrest. Great job man.
Thanks for your encouraging comment! The AS73 does not cost much (just around USD 375- USD 450 i think)but can go side by side with a Gibson of the same class (if not better) which is more than double or triple its cost. Cheers!
Thanks, son! Your Dad is mighty proud of your guitar skills (at 9 years of age) too despite that you only self studied while I am away. Don't worry, I'll teach you and kuya when I get home soon. Love you.
hey bro..you don't have to be fast to be a lead guitarist. Clapton,Gilmour don't play fast but they are phenomenal players. No one comes close to those guys, and no one will be... ever. if you think i'm good...salamat bro. You are good as i am! Everybody is as good as anybody. I can't do what you're doing. We can't compare orange to grapes. we are good as long as we are humble and keeping our feet to the ground. you blew my head my brother!!!
Yes, you nailed a good point there bro! Actually, I suck at fast pick guitar leads ( can't do shredding or sweeping ). I am comfortable with crisp clean high repetetive notes style of Edge and Buckland (Coldplay) and with some style and progressions of Earl Klugh and Pat Metheny. We have different styles, but like Yin and Yang - must be complimentary. I'll keep in touch bro!
Yes..pickups are stock and unaltered..don't intend to change also. They are good as they are. Yours has 3 pick ups I believe. Mine's a pair of ACH1 and ACH2 Humbuckers only. THANKS for the compliments. BTW, you are one hell of a guitarist! Cant do what you do, bro. Mabagal daliri ko sa lead guitar e! Cheers!
Hi Carlos...although I do not speak and read much Spanish and do not fully understand what you've said, thank you! I am sure they are nice words. Can somebody translate it for me? Sorry about this....ADIOS...Muchas Gracias, Amigo!
Here,I plugged it straight on a small 30-watts Fender Champion 300 amolifier, in clean channel, set on FLANGE but only with a tinge level setting of effects at "2"and Mid toggle (neck and bridge pick-ups). This guitar is packed with 2 ACH Humbucker covered pick-ups.
Thanks! If it sounded familiar or same with some other song, maybe by accident and unintentionally. I just composed and arranged this without any reference. Just playing around the guitar on one sleepless night and this just came. Cheers!
This is an original composition I did 2 years ago without lyrics (yet)hoping I would get my band someday to play this along with a few originals. I am glad you liked it! Thanks a lot!
Thanks, Doc! 'Improved my sound settings a lot on stage after you gave me some tips. Much much appreciated! And "BUSKING"...yes - sounds to be more interesting than Gigs, just like "barnstorming" !!

how is this guitar for rock? like foo fighters, queens of the stone age........
EkA510 3 years ago
Put its toggle switch on the hot bridge pick-up and jack it in an amp with a flange and full gain setting. You'll have the answer, bro. Cheers!

Hey- you've made a good decision with this model! It's been a year with me and I'm still honeymooning and in love with it! Ha ha!
DonLubiano 3 years ago
Wow that was excellent man please keep it up!

Thanks, Zac! Nice guitar works too on your Ibanez guitars! I miss playing that kind of stuff!

Cheers!

dad nice one!haha :-)
vincentlubiano 3 years ago
Thanks, son! Your Dad is mighty proud of your guitar skills (at 9 years of age) too despite that you only self studied while I am away. Don't worry, I'll teach you and kuya when I get home soon. Love you.

Thanks a lot. Bro..can I request just the chords of your SPAIN version? From there, I can detail it...puwede? God bless!
DonLubiano 3 years ago
hey bro..you don't have to be fast to be a lead guitarist. Clapton,Gilmour don't play fast but they are phenomenal players. No one comes close to those guys, and no one will be... ever. if you think i'm good...salamat bro. You are good as i am! Everybody is as good as anybody. I can't do what you're doing. We can't compare orange to grapes. we are good as long as we are humble and keeping our feet to the ground. you blew my head my brother!!!
keep in touch bro.
stevierayvirus2 3 years ago
Yes, you nailed a good point there bro! Actually, I suck at fast pick guitar leads ( can't do shredding or sweeping ). I am comfortable with crisp clean high repetetive notes style of Edge and Buckland (Coldplay) and with some style and progressions of Earl Klugh and Pat Metheny. We have different styles, but like Yin and Yang - must be complimentary. I'll keep in touch bro!

I have this exactly same guitar!

great tone!!! are the pick-ups stock? i have an AS83...is that a smaller version? is it close to Gibson's CS series? great music bro....keep it up.
stevierayvirus2 3 years ago
Yes..pickups are stock and unaltered..don't intend to change also. They are good as they are. Yours has 3 pick ups I believe. Mine's a pair of ACH1 and ACH2 Humbuckers only. THANKS for the compliments. BTW, you are one hell of a guitarist! Cant do what you do, bro. Mabagal daliri ko sa lead guitar e! Cheers!

Nice tone, what amp are you playing into?
wapzilla 3 years ago
I used here a small 30 watts Fender Champion 300, set in flange with 5 and 5 setting on the mid and low- clean channel. Thanks, mate!

Hi Carlos...although I do not speak and read much Spanish and do not fully understand what you've said, thank you! I am sure they are nice words. Can somebody translate it for me? Sorry about this....ADIOS...Muchas Gracias, Amigo!
DonLubiano 3 years ago
He said something like: "Very good, congratulations... i like that guitar so much, i think that i will buy one (or "I'd like to buy one")".
I think he was right... great guitar and very nice song :)

Hey i was looking to some sound demos on this guitar it sounds pretty good clean to me. Is your guitar by any chance the transparent red?
UHUstix 3 years ago
Yes, it is. (Transparent Red AS73 Artcore Ibanez )...cheers!
DonLubiano 3 years ago
Is it the stock pickuos and pots on the guitar, and by the way, what kind of amp is it you are using?
stiangreen 3 years ago
Here,I plugged it straight on a small 30-watts Fender Champion 300 amolifier, in clean channel, set on FLANGE but only with a tinge level setting of effects at "2"and Mid toggle (neck and bridge pick-ups). This guitar is packed with 2 ACH Humbucker covered pick-ups.

Love your playing, and your guitar.
The first riff seems familiar for some reason (I don't know why).
Love the song though.
TKDGSA 3 years ago
Thanks! If it sounded familiar or same with some other song, maybe by accident and unintentionally. I just composed and arranged this without any reference. Just playing around the guitar on one sleepless night and this just came. Cheers!
