@maiteanahi22 1. Always practice more even when you're feeling good about it. 2. Don't ever take anybodies opinion as reality if you love what you do. The reason is if you listen to people telling you how good you are..the mind says "well damn...I don't have to practice anymore" and if you listen to the negativity the mind says "well damn...I don't want to practice anymore". Follow your bliss..that is your direction in life.

Anyone know any exercises that will help me speak louder and clearer. When i talk, people frequently say "pardon?" or "what?". I want to have a dominant voice, my friend has a very loud voice when hes in a debate, discussing things, or just talking with his friends and i want my voice to be like his. My voice is low and my adams apple sticks out a fair bit. Any help?

please answer. I sing,and thought i was good,until i recorded myself singing(without any music) on camcorder. when i listened to myself directly in camera i sounded so differently ,weird and like a crap.and now i don't really like my singing, although i have singing instructor and when i went on first class i told her to be honest with me and say if i was good,or horrible,but she even told me that she had never heard anyone reach so low notes like i did. should i trust my cam and believe im bad?

@LeriChichinadze I'm pretty sure most of us have gone through what you're experiencing. Go check out Eric's video called "Voice Lesson: How to Analyze Your Voice(Self-Training)". In that video he talks about what you should do if you record yourself and you sound different(frankly, worse) than what you think you did.

My voice sounds soft also I agree with shadowstar97 its like I'm scared to get loud or something. Also my speaking voice is very soft and smooth I talk to my vocal coach she said I need to open my mouth wider when I sing. However, it was the first time I sat in front of a vocal coach in person.

Hey, Eric. I love your videos, they have helped me out a lot. I am kind of in a conundrum. I am an amateur R & B singer, attempting to sing in a different genre. I currently joined a rock band, and I feel restricted because I want to be able to sing the more "edgier" vocal styles, without destroying my voice. But I don't even know where to begin. Hey, Eric. I'm a new viewer and I have just one question. When I sing the "..street rat.." The Street part is strained and if I go any higher than that note, I skip up like.. a half step without hitting those mid ranges. and Even then my voice sounds cut off. Please respond to me by PM. This video, or the guy on the computers' voice is kinda similar to mine, except I don't sing "false" I can pitch kinda good or OK, but I use my throat too much, so it's tense and strained, so I can't stay in a pitch or go up in pitch without it sounding dirty and strained.
