  • Im sure the chips that you removed would no longer be of any use as the shorting of all the pins and the high temperature of the soldering iron would inevitably destroy the chip!

  • Well people, I just purchased the paste and tried it. It works like a charm! This is just a GREAT product. This product is a MUST have for safe and cheap rework.

By the way, I have used normal solder lead I had (I thought my Chip Quick paste came with some but it did not). Make sure you order the KIT not just the paste,

But anyways, it worked great on a QFP-44.

    again.. just WOW!

  • After seeing a few videos, I think I'm gonna spend the $11 on Amazon to snag up a kit.

  • This seems to be by far the safest, fastest and cheapest way of removing an IC. Can't wait to try it.

  • thank you for the tutorial!

  • Please tell, what is the flux name?

  • I dont get why i need smd chips? I can't sodder them my self?

  • полная шня га, нужен фен, век воли не видать.

  • oh shit ur works is so precise , not as my work

  • Can I use this for 0603 smd leds?

  • Chip Quik stuff is so expensive, there is any alternative for it ?

  • @LordLab Yes the alternative would be to get yourself a Pace soldering station priced at 2000$ and use the heatgun and taking the risk to damage the pcb...

  • @LordLab The alternative isn't worth it.

  • does this work for removing dc jacks from laptops that have like 9 pins? this looks like it would make it so damn easy

  • Can U use this on capacitors also?

  • This may be a dumb question but Will the heat from all that Soldering mess up any internals on chips or SMT parts?

  • can you destroy the chips by using to much heat?

  • @muh1h1 Yes.

  • thanks a lot ... this it was useful for me

  • Can you use any 60% tin/40% lead solder with the chip quik flux? Or you have to use the chip quik solder?

  • congratulates, full ESD protection.

    Simply use a hot air

  • I am sorry can you please tell me where I can buy this from?

  • Question: Is there a good way to remove the solder from the pins of the IC just removed? This looks like the perfect thing for me: I'm trying to remove a graphics chip from an old laptop motherboard, but I want to resolder it onto my own board, and it looks like it gets globbed all over the pins. Is there any good way to do that with the ChipQuik technique?

  • Darn I wish I knew this stuff existed, I really messed up the head phone jack on iPod touch, now I can only hear out of the left earphone :/ really sucks, could you buy this kit at a radio shack?

  • Nice porn music

  • very impressive would you consider doing a video of resoldering them?

one day i want to tackle the project of adding ram to an origional moded xbox but its frightening im gonna pratice on some dead mother boards.

  • what are you doing with this chips?

  • @DennisPl82 They're part of a project I'm working on. :-)

  • i ordered some after seeing your vid and just removed a massive qfp in secs...bad news the pins got all bent cuz I'm a moron. thx though.

  • @professorquack Practice makes perfect! Don't put too much pressure when heating up the pins, just gently brush through them.

  • wow! I'm going to attempt to remove a qfp 240 but didn't think this will work, but you showed it works ok. I'll prob destroy the chip but that's ok.

  • How do you know all this stuff? Did you go to college for electronics engineering or something? Sorry, just curious.

  • @NateN34 Its just from years of experience and looking up information about stuff I wanted to know. I'm just now beginning to take electronics classes for my major this semester.

The best way to learn some of this stuff is to just get hands on with it.

  • lol is that an n64 dude haha, i thought it was even before i saw the 97 nintendo, i thought of it cause when i took mine apart it had that flux/vaseline like crap on the under side of the chips just like yours does

  • I noticed on one of the n64 boards I have that it looks like the RCP was either removed or reworked at some point in time because there was some old flux on it. Not all of them look that way though.

  • ah, gotcha

  • Nice work!
