Technicall elephants can't run at all. Running technically means when all the limbs for locomotion temporarily leave the ground at one point. The elephant always has at least one limb on the ground no matter how fast it is moving. So in reality it is just walking fast but since its legs are so long it is still moving pretty damn fast (compared to most humans).
