I generaly only like the soundtracks of games i've played, but man! This song is AWESOME!!! I'm a big fan of Masashi Haumauzu (thanks to SaGa Frontier 2).
I loved how in the game you could switch songs while you were fighting. Job Switch, music change, battle all in a 3 deck menu. Game does require a small bit of thinking, though.
You should check out the soundtracks for: SaGa Frontier 2, Unlimited SaGa, Final Fantasy VII: Dirge Of Cerberus. As well as Final Fantasy X & Musashi: Samurai Legend for which he contributed some very high quality tracks.
i think the HQ where Nobuo used to work switched locations or something like that, and Nobuo was very uncomfortable with the new location, maybe it was too far away from him or maybe he even needed to move, because that was the reason he quit Square Enix
wow this is a wonderful song! Its great to know there is still music like this being made for video games! Mostly only in japan though... I cant stand how we have turned our backs on JRPG's and how they have been reduced to the "lower" portable systems! Noone wants to take a chance and run with an old style RPG with fancy graphics on a next gen system... I am just waiting for someone to push 2D to yet the next level on the ps3 or xbox360 and show us something STUNNING.

It's really a shame that the Square Enix that we now know of is using FF, DQ, KH, and now, Space Invaders (yes, Square Enix now owns Taito, since 2005) as crutches.
RELEASE THIS XENOPHOBES OF JAPAN D:<

Aya Hirano...?
You mean the one who sang Motteike! Sailor Fuku and voices Konata from the overrated anime series Lucky Star?

If this is any indication of how the rest of the FF XIII soundtrack is going to sound.... then I can't wait for it.
Hamauzu has really improved his works since FF X, and he was good then. Wonderful song. I actually recently got this and have enjoyed it immensely.

A lavish soundtrack mixing together seamlessly the styles of classical/electronica and ambient music.
