This is an amazing song, I couldn't have heard it at a better time. My father-in-law is an alcholic and had been sober for 8 years until 4 days ago. When I heard the chorus in this song, it gave me hope that it's not too late.
This is my most favorite song of Rick's. Unfortunately I lost my father 11 years ago to cancer. Another friend of mine who is also a knit designer as I am, was diagnosed with breast cancer and we are just waiting to see if she is cancer free or not.
@partydown1 Her results have been good. She is working on year 2 of being cancer free.
As I deal with my own fears, not cancer, but renal failure I listen to the song more and more, often repeatedly. I use to help keep my mind focused. I stat dialysis in January and will be on the transplant list soon.
@CraftyGal All the best Cora...stay strong...My father always said "If you think you can or you think you can't you are probably right". So believe you can. Rick
@partydown1 Thank you and I hope that you will be touring soon. I am glad that you have the writers project going. My son has started writing and this is after learning to play guitar almost 2 years ago. Trying to locate the video....
Love this song! It means alot to me and my family. My dad was diagnosed with cancer when i was 13, I am very happy to say that 6 years later he is still here, healthy and cancer free.
Thanks for sharing your story...it folks like your father who are an inspiration to all who are battling cancer as well as other diseases. Congrats to your father and continued good health!
this is when country music was good, unfortunately since 2004 country music has become slow and boring with no beats and no meaning

I love this song. I live by these words. I live in Canada and never hear it on the radio anymore.
