You really think the insurance company's are losing with this new bill? The government has just guaranteed them tens of millions of customers. Now all incentive to provide a better service, even if there was just a little, is lost. I bet they've helped pushing the bill themselves with their lobbyist. People should get off the idea that big corporations and governments are rivals. The only cure for bad corporations is competition, not bigger government.

How refreshing to here someone admit the medical profession is corrupt. Doctors are elitists of our society who have no organization but their own to police their practices. If a doctor doesn't help you; don't pay.
@TheDogRibs This is not only an american phaenomenon, its the same worldwide and medicine isnt even 10 percent of the drug business. The vast money goes to commercial articles like crema or fancy shower gels. I d like to know where our nowerdays medicine would be if they ´d spend more money on real medicine instead of researching the new fancy anti traspirant. Its almost the same with lawyers who invent new laws to keep themselves busy otherwise they´d be jobless. The whole society is corrupt.
What is really sad is our kids will not live as long as us. We are bioaccumulating so many industrial toxins in our bodies that by the time the next generation matures new cancers new treatments, and special high effective cures will be only available for the rich. 700 new chemical compounds are released into the environment each year untested unregulated and unreported. YOu think the Gulf oil spill is bad wake up American fools you are being butt f$%#@d as you smile and take your viagra.

If you think the US healthcare industry is running on a capitalist system, there's some work that needs doing. 50% of our healthcare system is funded by the government. Within a few decades, the amount of taxes we pay now will only cover medicare, medicaid, and social security as these programs rack up government debt. Dr. Paul does a good job explaining why it's corporations that are corrupting America and NOT capitalism. Corporatisim is a separate entity than pure capitalism, because a corporation gets to break the rules no one else can. Making the game not fair. And it's the governments fault.
I don't see the difference between Capitalism and Corporatism. In a Capitalistic system, the government will ALWAYS be run by big business, so how could you ever have a "free-market-capitalistic" society.
The only difference I see is that corporatism is the reality and free-market-capitalism is a fantasy that could never exist.
You bring up an interesting point. "Corporatisim" is different than Capitalism because Corporations destroy and obstruct a Free Market society by using and manipulating the government through insane lobbying. An example of this would be Clarence Thomas working as a lawyer for Monsanto before becoming a corrupt "Associate Justice of the Supreme Court". It was Thomas whom allowed Monsanto to patent DNA of seeds and then sue farmers for Monsanto's 'patented' seeds getting into farmer's farm.
Does anyone find it ironic that he says the reason our medical system is corrupt is because of the money and then as a professor of medicine he says that more money should be poured into his profession. I don't disagree as much as I find it funny.
so should doctors and pharmaceutical representatives be in black trench coats instead of white lab coats
