Lots of historians wrote loads of books on the subjects and many of these historians noticed that the number of all the European jews didn't reach that number (6 million), and if we consider the facts that Hitler's forces never conquered all Europe and that the European jews began migrating will the nazi regime was rising and that plenty of jews survived the concentration camps, these facts make the number fall from 6 million to alot less.

Some did apply to be declare Aryan which was a long procedure, most of them were dismissed, deported to labor camps which they did not survive due the harsh condition.

The film Europa Europa describes what happened to Solomon Perel who fought near Leningrad for example. On my channel there is a film of a person who joined the SS in a succesful attempt to survive. In WW1 around 100,000 Jews served in the German military and around 12,000 were killed - a much higher loss rate than that of non Jews.

the reason the holocaust is studied in school, as opposed to studying more recent genocides, is because the holocaust was the systematic murder of entire populatins, not just Jews but Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals, etc. As far as I know, ghettos and concentration camps were not used in Rwanda or in the Sudan. The Nazis believed that all non-Aryans were subhuman and biologically inferior, which makes the Holocaust different and the Nazi's ideology even more horrific than plain hate.

Lots of historians wrote loads of books on the subjects and many of these historians noticed that the number of all the European jews didn't reach that number (6 million), and if we consider the facts that Hitler's forces never conquered all Europe and that the European jews began migrating will the nazi regime was rising and that plenty of jews survived the concentration camps, these facts make the number fall from 6 million to alot less.
