If you find it ridiculous, I think you're missing the point. In representing humans as monkeys, Cline creates a distance to the human subject which allows for a different level of self-reflection. In fact, the entire montage serves to demonstrate the differences between Cline's "human monkeys" and the "real monkeys", and your comment simply proves his point.
