My mini-aussie steals socks too! Must be an aussie thing? She loves them but she doesn't chew them, she just carries them outside or hides them in the house. Takes some searching to find them again.
Cute! All-Star Mini Aussies in Southern California has trained Mini Aussie puppies available now! Come see their amazing tricks videos!! They do come, sit, shake, high five, wave, down, and roll over! We train all of our puppies before they go home!
@colliek9kaos i have a toy and the full size will be the size of a cat...the teacups are the size of about a 4 month old toy. The ONLY bad thing about a teacub is that their hair gets all raty..
@colliek9kaos The miniatures and the full size aren't too drastically different in size, it's when you get the toys (usually under 12') that they get really small. but even though some are pretty large like this beautiful girl the minis too come pretty tiny
@Wolfy934 yes, they are absoulutely wonderful. they are very intelligent and smart, which can be a curse and a blessing. Aussies have a ton of potential and are always loyal and can be taught to do amazing tricks and be very obidient, but the intelligence can also be bad if you don't take proper care of your aussie by giving it enough exercise or things to do, beccause its smart enough to know its bored and sometimes can develop destructive habits out of boredem, so with care, they are amazing.
hey i like your training and tricks that you have done and ur dog is really cute also, how old is she?, i have a mini-aussie also and they do the same tricks almost, and how old r u cuz you sound young but not young idk aha im 15,comment back ceyeah
@24Raven24 For some reason, she loves carrying around my families socks to the point where she tips over laundry baskets to get at them. Yeah. I don't know either.
@24Raven24 Same happens to me, and she does too. Normally, I will let her have them for a little, and if she starts to rip at them I will take them away.
@24Raven24 I grew up with working german sheherds and while training the reward was never treats but a special rubber ball on a rope that was used only as a reward when the dog had done something right. A reward doesnt have to be treats, that is actually bad for the dogs teeth, stomach and working spirit because it only feels the will to please is it smells candy, while motivation and reward with an item that symbolises reward brings out the lust to play and please. So it isnt wrong.
I love this video! I have a miniature Aussie as well, who is 5 months old. I got him when he was 16 weeks old and have been teaching him the same tricks and he does the SAME THING for his rollover. I call it his "over-achieving." In fact, I was going to take a video of him to post on my blog but, as it seems, you've done the work for me! Such smart, smart dogs.
just got an aussie puppy :) my dogs hair is much much longer than that though... is that how long your dogs hair was as a puppy or did you get her groomed?
I have to go to italy for 2 months and i don't know what to do, i dont want leave him....should i bring him. Im worried about putting him on the plane.
is the main difference between a mini aussie and just an aussie only their size, or do they have a little bit different behaviors. As far as energy and excercise needs and obedience and everything are they different at all?
Yeah, the size of course, but I don't think the behaviors are that different. Smaller ones might have a little more energy, but that really is the only noticeable difference
@hiruma0101 i think they even have other behaviours... e.g. as long as you don't push them to, they dont have the herd-instinct that much.. and theyre more into playing as far as i remember.. ;)
The Mini Aussie is the type, the colors are just the variations. You would want to find a mother that looked like this. During the summer, her fur actually turns a little more of a reddish color. We named her "Rosie" because her fur was actually supposed to be much more red.
oh okay.. thanks! i just love how your dog isn't as shaggy as other mini aussies i've seen.how old is rosie by the way??? Is she a red tri? I stopped by the pet shop the other day and this particular breed caught my eye. I've been doing more research on this breed and i've seen and heard nothing but positive feedback from a lot of owners. it looks like a perfect dog for a family. i'm sold.....I'm looking for pups now with Rosie's color... thanks!
such a cute pup! i'm not saying it to be mean, but i would be careful when saying no. by the time you said no she was actually doing what you wanted her to. she rolled over again when you asked for sit. but when she actually sat was when you said no. i would probably just ignore the wrong behavior all together. it may be confusing to have you say no when she's doing what you asked. just wanted to add that, but she's a cute pup! and i think she looks healthy. you're doing a great job :)
Wow I'm acutely getting an Aussie

It looks like she's anticipating your commands - be sure to give them to her in varying order or else it's just a memorization of what comes next!

The colour of the dog is 'red Tri' ;) I have the same dog in the same colour - dark brown, light brown and white :)
The colour without white calls 'red Bi' . That means that the dog have only two colours - dark brown and light brown.
