to the one you said that teen parents cant afford the right care if a child has a defect or mental heath issue i have a close friend who fell pregnant to her fiancée partner of 5 yrs when she was 18 they own there own home and there child has autism and goes to a grate autism school and gets all care he needs they are doing really well and it wasn't cause there parents had money or they get hand outs they worked hard and where wise with there money they are the greatest parents i have eva meet
older doesnt mean better equipped to care for a child, and younger doesn't mean you don't know how to. it all depends on the person and their maturity.
i dont see any problem of being pregnant at 16, why because its how the world works, better 16 with a family supporting you than marry at 12 years old and be pregnant at 13, example, some muslin coutries. :)

I don't think it is so much a point of the teen's life but that of the unborn child once it is conceived. At that point the teen has to put themselves second and do what they have to do to provide for the child and those that do can be wonderful parents but it is much more likely for a teen to not take responsibility than a person who is married with a planned pregnancy. I am a mother of a five year old that I had at 19 so I don't think all pregnant teenagers are bad, just bad decisions.
in the 60's and 70's it was the norm to marry off your daughters and have a child at the age of 18, why is it so different now. all you do gooders out there need to get a life and stop whinging about everyone elses cause at the end of the day YOU do not have any say in what these girls do.

It barely effected Juno's life as much as itshould have, but at least she gave it up for adoption. Plenty of teen girls today are Choosing Purposefully to get pregnant. It's contagious and more socially acceptable. I had a 20 year old fam member tell me this is normal now and I'm old. I'm 31!

My fiance would have been marrying me even if i wasn't pregnant. he had proposed days before we found out. and his parents didn't like that but mine approved as long as i was happy. Pretty freaky stuff. I really cannot understand why teens would have a baby when they have no stable income, stable partner/no partner or stable shelter (depending on their parent/s). My cousin is 27 with a very stable job, a loving husband, a new house and is very well prepared, her baby will grow up to feel wanted and loved. I don't understand why teens would want to compromise their own lives and their child's. All for the sake of using a condom!
I didn't have a stable income at the time but we had stable lives and families and friends that where there for us and that plays a huge part to are decision. when i was young i didn't want to have kids but the second i seen my son in the ultra sound... i would have lived in a cardboard box if it meant i could stay with him for the rest of my life. my children are everything to me.
