Why would people put Katina in the R-Gun she isn't a psychic...the TK field can't be utilised :(

Because the R-Gun has very high armor, mobility, and damage output. Katina is one of best damage dealer pilots in the game(Attacker, Revenge, Soul Twin SC). She can dodge almost anything in R-gun , and is she gets hit, the R-gun can endure a lot punishment, for a real robot.

Personally i give it to Leona(hit and away , TK), and put her into Armorlion (which is amazingly balanced, the only downside, that does not have a strong finisher like the Wildschwein).

I meant the OG1 R-Gun. In that game it was one of the best units.(And while it did not have HTB Cannon, it had Metal Genocider, which was also quite strong.)

The R-Gun Powered in OG2 was quite medicore by itself , at the time when you got it.

Because Advance Portable lifted graphics straight from OGs for the originals, and MX for the returners from MX, so it is a huge mismatch of quality.

Also because this is on the PS2, and the PS2 is tougher than the PSP.

Ah--that sorta makes sense.  And my comment was not negative--I've only seen Advance Portable through Youtube clips, and the quality of the graphics from Advance Portable actually seemed BETTER than those from OGS. That was the source of my disbelief, the fact that stuff from OGG seemed to have the same level of quality in the graphics as Advance Portable did.

Ah, well. It's partly opinion, anyways.

Not that there's anything wrong with AP. The original graphics for it look hella nice. Thye only negative things I have to say about it are that some of the MX graphics look a little out of place (Zeta Gundam, for example), since they're half a generation behind the OGs and AP animations.

Not nearly as bad as Impact was. Impact had graphics from the -original- Alpha. A lot of the gundams look like flaming garbage.

@iiiiiifggffggffgfgfg I think that's a bit different. Of course they'd reuse sprites from Alpha/Gaiden, since that was the console game that came right before it. It's like how W used sprites from J or A used sprites from- well, all the old games kind of had the same sprites for a while.

...Actually, AP's new sprites are basically just OGs-style renditions of Impact's attacks, aren't they...

It's pretty obvious in Impact. Everything that had never appeared in Alpha got an "early PS2" look. Everything that had had like three frames of animation. Just look at gundam grunts. They half-assed the animation in Alpha and didnt change anything in Impact. Or compare Nadesico animations to Zeta gundam animations.

But sure, they are jarring in Impact, since the new animations are better than everything that was in Alpha.

They should have stolen animations from Alpha Gaiden instead. Most of them were a lot better than the original Alpha's.

Alpha animation is decent for decent robots. For grunts it wasn't much better than F-Final. Why waste time on Dom II's that you'll see twice in the entire game?

They pulled as much from @G as they could, I think. Though I can't really think of an example since none of the new series in @G were in Impact. (Thank god J9 didnt come back, boy was that a turd). Actually I think they used @G's rendition of Mazinger-Z - much better than the alpha one.
