The movie was set in Chicago, the series was set in Los Angeles. In the film, Ferris is shown as intelligent and well liked, in the show he is portrayed as obnoxious and is constantly referred to by his classmates as "nerd." In the film, Ferris and Jeannie's parents names are Katie and Tom but in the TV series, they were changed to Barbara and Bob. Also in the film, Ferris was a senior and Jeannie was a junior (or sophomore), but in the TV series, Ferris was a junior and Jeannie was a senior.

There were so many similar cheap comic serials for kids like this coming on to the scene in the late 80's / early 90's most were cancelled after 1 season or less or never made it passed pilot stage. I think the 2 most famous were fresh prince of bel air and cosby show. Theyre still popular even today.

They did comment on that in an episode of PARKER LEWIS, had the camera zoom out and a MST style silloette of two people watching what was going on and ond of them told the guy next to him something like "See Ferris, this is how we should have done it" Nice burn (sadly PARKER LEWIS got to be like this show the final year).

I did not know this show existed until two nights ago.... I am currently living in Germany, and they play it on Nick (nach acht).

Sweet Jesus, it is bad. But yet, I am oddly drawn to it, as I think it is improving my German. The dialouge is so simple and the plot so predictable, that it is easy to follow and understand, even in a different language.
