@dgsdvdlsrph I'm a Filipina, so I sorta understand why my folks are staking claim on her. Frankly it is WRONG, but the reason why they do that is because, ask yourself, how does the world really view Filipinos? Many of charice's countrymen experienced a lot of flak for being pinoys. Charice herself once said, Filipinos are happy enough to identify with Charice because it gives them hope and also compensates for our insecurities as a nation. At least understand that.

@potteriddle you should understand how poor and how hard life is over there. its a struggle just to survive. they have nothing to brag about in life so i can understand how proud the filipinos are when someone like Charice comes up. some maybe over zealous but not everyone is the same. filipinos strive to be the best in their craft whatever it may be. as a musician, CHARICE really is one of the best if not the best young singer out there. and theres no denying that SHE is Filipino. let em be.
