These roots of our language are not which to be proud of. Throughout the years have come the artistic integrity, social placement, and diseased language. The slang that has come along has not led to our stupidity... ya know?

While I do get his point, as a descriptivist, I don't have much of an issue with the fact that certain members of the English-speaking population have adopted an unnecessarily interrogative tone, even after watching this video. Most English teacher probably would love this, but most linguistics professors wouldn't.
@iluvlife212121 Spell school correctly and capitalize the beginnings of your sentences so that for a moment I could read them without kicking myself in the face and holding utter disappointment in the world. Please and thank you.
What happened? A lot of us have become skeptical and don't accept someone's opinion just because they say it with authority. But he is right, you need to speak with authority to be believed.
You dont know how much times i had to use google translate, to understand the high language used in here. And no I'm not stupid! But English is'nt my native language.
This "like" "you know" and other unassertive statement is really trending in Indonesia, especially Jakarta. The way they speak really frustrates me, it's like what we believe don't actually matter. Any other Indonesian or foreign Indonesian expert following this thread please respond.

I have learned English in Armenia, I further advanced it in Lebanon during my 3 year stay and by now I know it better than most of my American friends. I have very little noticeable accent, or so I thought before coming to U.S.A and seeing the extremely stupid and illogical accent they use there. I am accused of bad accent for this very reason, because I speak with conviction! I refuse to put invisible question marks and I refuse to add "Ye know"-s and "like"-s...
Only idiots and brain-dead juveniles use the word "like" as if it were a form of punctuation. Great poem. Loved it. You should do one about the "Aggressively Ignorant" who speak in text.
@Dkissinger23 the funny thing is that my english teacher used this in a lesson. we even had to respond to this which is pretty cool because i love it.
Hats off to Mr. Mali as the writer as well as the reader (was that Ronnie Bruce or did he just do the graphics/typography?) The reader's intonation was PERFECT!
Very funny, and very, very true.
Long live proper language!, for as the prophets and wise men know, the pen is always mightier than the sword....
This seems to be a phenomenon in primarily the United States. Somewhere or sometime it became a problem to "offend" people. So much so that we have created a bunch of push-overs and people afraid to make ANY declarative statement.

By the way, posting derogatory comments on the internet using a anonymous username seems like a pretty pansy thing to do...
