The new GTR is just that..GTR, its not gonna be called a Skyline or R35 Skyline GTR like the other GT-Rs used to be, it shares the same chassis with the z33 "350z in US" and vq35 skyline "g35 in US", but thats it, its a "one off" car and is (for some reason) only going to be dubbed the Nissan GT-R, i really wish that it would still come with the Skyline GT-R badge that the older generations had, but i read in a SCC magazine that nissan wanted it to be its own car and have no ties to Skyline's...

Its kind of grown on me. When you look at the Skylines over the years, none have been beautiful in shape in an elegant sense. Its more brutal styling that's made it cool.

But I do agree Sports Car Design needs to revisit the 50's 60's and early 70's that's when cars were truely beautiful.

I've also heard (like all the previous skylines) that it looks way better in person.

But when i first saw it i didn't think it was as great looking either, though that was partly because it didn't look as much like the Skyline GTRs before it.

Because skyline G35 was not thought as a base as for R35 GT-R.

R35 GT-R is a race machine of the oncoming generation that came into existence

Wow, you have no idea what you're talking about. The car in this video is the Nissan R35 GT-R. IT IS NOT A SKYLINE.

SKYLINE AND GT-R ARE NO LONGER THE SAME OR ASSOCIATED. The last Skyline GT-R was the R34. And it is the last. There is a new Skyline out, but it has nothing to do with this GT-R, or any further GT-R's.

So I guess your not a true Skyline fan then? Get your facts straight before you talk shit you total wanker.

Actually, they did get rid of the Skyline name, dip stick. The Skyline is still made in Japan, but it is the G35 in the US. The GTR is a new brand.

I can guarantee you that, when my GTR shows up in June, it will not say Skyline anywhere. Skyline is now it's own model (the G35, as it's called in the US). You can not say in any way that the G35 is anything like the GTR, so, apparently, they are now becoming two different brands.

I am tired of arguing with you. Believe whatever you want. I understand the GT-R's bloodlines, and I know that all previous models were Skylines, but now that Nissan is finally bringing the car to the US, they had to rebrand the car so as not to cause any confusion. It would most definitely have been a Skyline GT-R if they would have sold it as an Infiniti (which they nearly did, except NA Infiniti could not convince Nissan that there would be any benefit to it being badged as an Infiniti).

Best technology out there! Simply Amazing. Apart from being a whippingly fast AT car, its AT transmission can be graceful too. It is capable of going 60km/h in the sixth gear. An intelligent car that cruises and races well. Currently, no car companies have this technology. The closest to it is the Honda's grade logic gearing.

Wrong. I haven't seen anything stating that the GT-R is approaching anywhere close to the Z06's trap speeds of 125-128mph. It's not toughing the Z06 in straightline stock for stock. We still haven't seen it face the Z06 on any American tracks yet either.
