hm, probably not the best thing to discuss but somewhere i heard that lawrence was raped and i read that this should be the scene. i honestly think that some people were imagining too much. he got tortured and the part where he looked back at the door was creepy and he got...less optimistic/strong but i dont see him getting sexually abused. why should they let it come to this when they already hurt him and got the wished reaction?

Its been debated whether this incident actually occurred. Thanks for posting this vital clip which - for some unknown reason - was not part of original bunch. The story of Deraa - whether true or fictional (research tends to suggest the Turkish commander was not gay) was a watershed for Lawrence. His phrase in the 7 Pillars "the citadel of my integrity was breeched" refers to his utter weariness with war, the Arab cause and with life itself - regardless of any purported homosexual rape.

I did a little reading on what really happened when the Turks caught Lawrence.

They did him up something awful.
