If you have money, You can have your kids play like this. Look at that piano. I have played for 9 years And I don't have a piano that fancy. He did good though anyway.
I work in an italian school of music and there are many many children younger playing more and more better. Anyway they too...aren't prodigies. Give me your stupid bad vote now, it's just the truth.
I agree with you. He is good, i wish i had started playing this young. however there are kids younger and better so the word prodigy might be a little too strong. give me your bad vote now for going against the majority uninformed opinion.
The term prodigy is not restricted to children only. It means -especially- a young person or child, but is certainly not restricted to them. Someone of any age can be considered a prodigy, unless you're trying to give 'special' meaning to a word which simply means 'having extraordinary talent'.
This kid is a prodigy, and there are people -older- than him that are considered prodigies as well. Signed ~ The Majority Uninformed Opinion
no offence, he is really good, but the dude is right, he may be young and taleneted but I know a 4 year old who can play many instruments and is really good at them as well, I mean this girl is famous good, and she is just an example.
i wouldn't say prodigy because they always teach little kids the classical stuff first, a true prodigy would be inventive. Hes really good but no prodigy.
All the best young'un My advice is work hard but never stop loving what you do - when the pressure gets to much dont let it kill your love of music - ENJOY. You see so many dower pianists because they have achieved but they have lost their love of it. Noone wants to hear a souless pianist - dont become one.
He does have a real talent and ability for expressing music and he seems to have an understanding of how to use his fingers. BUT as ever talent needs to be allied with real REAL hard work to achieve anything great. Even Mozart, Mendelssohn, Saint saens...all famous prodigies would be woken at 5 am to start their daily programme of studies..which were extremely comprehensive and demanding. Talent alone is not enough. But without talent you dont go places either its both and.
lol whats turnercurran saying!? "can you send me videos of your children", a bit wierd n e way great vid he is exceptional but 50% of being a prodigy is composing he can certainly play like one but has he made anything up?
celzhang: No one's saying he IS a prodigy...but possibly one in the making. He's just starting out, but to play this well in 6 mos. shows he's got a talent for playing. Don't be a stick in the mud....I can see you have no class, which makes this 6 yr. old more of a 'prodigy' than you are a gentleman.
Well, he's at the least an average player, but at the best talented. But not a prodigy (well at least not yet, I think). But keep up the good work ^_^
ugh...i got so caught up in the last comment, i forgot to say that the kid in the video is really good for his age. He's so dedicated at music, it's amazing.
Macgeek; if you were working at a cafe for so many hours, why are you still around commenting on all the piano videos. Insults don't really pass well on youtube. It's critique not "im so much better than you get a life." btw, some advice to you. Since you started writing pieces when you were little, and playing fur elise at 3, why don't you show that to the public and stop being such a freaking coward.
there are two things involved in learning a peice. learning the notes, and learning the music. he knows the notes, but has very little 'feel' in the music. anyone can play the notes, but not everyone can really play the peice as what its ment to be.
A beginner hasn't learned to "feel" the music yet & he is just a beginner. NO, not 'anyone' can play the notes. He has a natural talent & he is a beginner. Quite expecting him to be professional in 5 months! All these bozos can do is critize him. He doesn't do this or has no feel for the music or he doesn't extend his fingers...quit griping & enjoy the fact that for a 6 yrs. old with less than 6 mos. 'training' can still play better than MOST adults with a years' training!
I think he's doing wonderfully for just learning to play the piano only 5 mos. earlier. I'm not 'saying' he IS a prodigy...but one "in the making". He's a beginner,yes...but can everyone play THAT well after five months of lessons? I get ticked by some of the snide remarks people make. They read too much into words without thinking. He's a beginner, give him a break! He's only 6.
Nothing special :\ I had the song down flawlessly by that age. I'm not knocking that the kid has talent tho, but he's got a LOT of work ahead of him :P Keep it up tho for sure
very good! his lttle feet almost reach the pedals! 6 years old! Thats good! Most people learning "Für Elise" just learn the first movement, I see he's launched into the second one! The 3rd one is my favorit!
Ha... yea ok, speaking as a piano performance major who has been playing piano since I was 3, both pieces of advice you gave are completly wrong.
You are SUPPOSED to throw your elbow out when arpegiating to reduce the split in between chords.
That is some of the most vague advice I have ever heard given... especially on YouTube... you really think this kid is going to have a revalation after your comment?

You could 'possibly' know music, but you sure don't know English....'more and more better'?
You're also acting so childish with that attitude...maybe you're just the janitor in that music school!

Fingertips. Don't play with your fingers bent. Keep them at the tip. Also, don't bend your arm when your playing at the farther end of the piano.

And you have a right to propose this comment to me just because you're a professional?
Well excuse me if our comments differ, but this is what I believe: by bending your fingers it will reduce the sound quality and sharpenss in tone.
I'm sorry if you played one more year than I have, but, from my experience this is how you play.
I respect your comment; however, don't be so defensive next time.
