  • is this show still happening ?

  • damn they must not have had this show run very long, ive never even heard of it

  • @mothafobiskit It was a very good show - but it lasted about 6 weeks ...

  • jesse venturra is a fake he was never water boarded i was there when he chickened out like a typical afgani

  • @AshtrayanConvict sure you were FAGGOT

  • Jesse ventura should not be allowed anywhere near a tv camera.

  • Seemed more like a very informative interview than a debate. Good show.

  • jesse is right......

  • the news in general only cares about what might give them ratings and to compete against all the other news channels, i mean they had micheal jackson on the news over a year when they coulda shown actual news.

  • BTW, LOL at calling the media "watch dog" the media is a lap dog for big business and big government. It's literally bought and paid for by the big corporations that are the shareholders and are on the board of directors.

  • @BusBoyIsBack If that's the case, how do you account for so much negative, critical reporting about corporations? Here's a clue - "btw, lol" - it's always good to check your preconceptions with reality from time to time.

  • If the media was 100% pro Big Government and pro Big corporations, what would be the point in even pretending we have a free press?

And that criticism boils down to problem, reaction, no solution.

It's always after the fact. Hindsight. Kind of like the media only is critical of Iraq situation AFTER the fact.

Where were they before the fact?

But continue to delude yourself/attempt to delude others into thinking that there are no conflict of interests or biases involved in the process

  • My preconceptions with reality? I don't base my world views on things outside of reality. I read your bio. Seems you are the one who is the expert at writing science fiction and fantasy ;)

It's one thing for me to say that there is a conspiracy between big business, government, and the media. That I can't prove.

What I can prove is that the mechanisms and vested interests are in place that are in direct conflict/opposition with those of the public.

  • @BusBoyIsBack Right, but there also mechanisms in place - for example, NPR and numerous blogs, not to mention progressive shows on MSNBC - that are in opposition to those "vested interests".

As for my science fiction and fanasy - right, I like to multi-task :)

  • @BusBoyIsBack I never said there were no conflicts of interest. I said the huge diversity of media sources usually override the conflicts of interest.

  • The same MSNBC that's still owned by one of the same big 5 media conglomerates?

There is far less diversity than you seem to think or be willing to admit. Any effort in research in the ownership of the major tv, radio, and newspaper companies can reveal this.

There is unprecedented levels of consolidation in the media today which is why the idea of free press is more far fetched than ever before.

  • And oh please NPR? National Propaganda Radio is funded by people like the CPB, private corporations and whose board members are people with ties to the major political parties which I could go on about how big of a joke that duopoly system has become.

  • @BusBoyIsBack Are you seriously claiming that MSNBC broadcasts no truth or facts? If you agree that some truth is presented, than you are agreeing with my point that corporate ownership does not prevent the presentation of truth.

If you seriously think that no truth whatsoever is presented on any medium owned by a corporation, then I guess there's nothing more I can say to you, because you're denying a reality akin to the sun rising every day,

  • Does MSNCBC as well as all the other major news outlets present facts? Certainly they do. I would even go as far as to say that well over half of the stories reported are factually accurate. Or at very least measures are taken so to the best of their abilities we are presented the facts. The problem is most of those accurately reported stories fall into the category of human interest stories or partisan politics.

  • When it actually comes to truly diagnosing many events the media displays its biggest lapdog status.

One can justify the human interest stories by pointing out that the media is driven by ratings. But when it goes beyond the seemingly harmless distracting titillating stories and into the omissions, distortions, of covering major events, thats when we have a problem.

  • Thats when the actual sovereignty of a nation can be in peril. When the unseen unelected power can have its spin put on any major event to make themselves appear less culpable in any matter, thats when elements of Orwells book 1984 start to appear more like reality than quasi-fiction.

So certainly much of what we are given is indeed factually accurate. But if you're drinking a cup of coffee that's 90% coffee and 10% arsenic, it's mostly coffee but the part you don't know could kill you

  • Not the best analogy - because the news that's factual (coffee) provides the very basis for identifying and removing the part that's not factual (the arsenic).

  • @BusBoyIsBack

Yep. But it's even worse than what you said. Carl Bernstein's book on the CIA and the Media is a great read....

"The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media."

    --William Colby, former CIA Director

  • Jesse said he got fired for criticizing the War on Iraq. Maybe he got fired for pointing attention to the joke that is the media and their coverage of stories.

  • Jesse Ventura man I hope he run's for president then

  • Jesse said MSNBC canceled his show because he was against the Iraq War.

Kind of funny when you listen to this clip and they talk about the media not doing reporting that annoys the administration.

  • he had me at hello... lol

  • thanks for posting this vid. How do you feel about your voters electing Bush twice?

  • voters electing Bush? that's pretty debatable

  • Right - certainly not the first time.

  • I wonder why this lad is so sanguine about the American people and so dismissive about JV's point. He cites Thos. Jefferson; well, TJ was not as he suggests unconcerned about media bias! TJ was harrassed and plagued by politically biased and blatantly false media stories .

  • wow- this is one of the best discussions JV's had-- too bad MNSBC pulled the plug on his show. He wastes so much energy debating FOX - wish he'd spent that time debating experts like this laddy.

  • Wow, decent show, too bad they didn't give it more of a chance

  • Is Jesse Ventura really 2 heads taller than you?

  • :) he had me standing in a special pit ... only kidding

  • I love it that the stories that Ventura was lambasting (Scott Peterson & Kobe Bryant) were running across the ticker. I appreciate that reality as the proof that Ventura needs to make his argument and as irony.

  • It would have been cool if his show continued

  • Go Jesse Ventura!

  • msnbc cant handle the truth and cant stand the body telling the truth

  • "the key is what we think of the american people." This is the heart of media motivations. It's a reflection upon the perceived depth and intellectual ability of the masses as speculated by the media big wigs.

  • Is it truly "speculation," though? Frankly, an American public that not only elected George W. Bush but RE-ELECTED him, has to have the "intellectual ability" of a slug.

  • According to Jesse Ventura himself, in various recent interviews such as Alex Jones Show [GCN Network & KLBJ-FM Austin TX] he was indeed "muzzled" by being taken off the air and getting paid until his contract lapsed. i..e, he was paid to keep quiet. Now he's back in force with 911 knowledge and speaking out and may run for President in 4 years (hopefully with Ron Paul).

  • Yes, he mentioned that on another media interview also.

  • Yeah i hope so. I originally thought he would be good with obama, but obama is turning out to be a big liar....especially with FISA.

  • There were a few shows then Msnbc muzzled Jesse for 3 years until now. Too honest for the tv -=/

  • I work in the media. Guess what? Jesse is 100% correct! There are still good reporters and producers, but when it gets to how the stations are run, it's all about money, sales, profit. Most journalists aren't given the recourses to research and verify, so news stories are just regurgitated from one another, and packaged in ways to sell other airtime at a higher profit.

  • This is great!

  • Oh shit!! When did he have a TV show??!! Fascism American Media...probably had him on for one season and cut him because he is speaking the truth. Get Um' Jesse!

  • I never knew jesse was so hard core in the fight against tyrany.Rock on jesse.

  • its a pity jesse retired from the good fight , humanity misses his steel!

  • We need more Voices like Jesse in the World today, he really has surprised me.

    Good work fella

  • The US media a watch dog???? More like a lap dog. A smelly whore of a lap dog.

  • (A Must See Documentary] Orwell Rolls in his Grave

  • LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING NOW JACK!

  • thanks for putting this up and btw FUCK CNN

  • My pleasure - glad you enjoyed the clip.

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • My pleasure.
