@tjeuwbacca he plays this like a russian when it should be played lighter! is too not heavy not dark but heavy. too much mussorgsky not enough almost italianesque liszt
@MALBGM We got enough stupidity in the world. Please kindly shut your mouth. This is Saint-Saen/Liszt/Horowitz. How would that be 'Italian'? If you are going for the origin, it should be French (Saint Saen based it on an old French superstitious poem)
@jefftam1234 jeff! buddy! for one thing you take me waaaaaaaay too seriously
:D
for another, i wasn't referring to the origin i was referring to the sound. i believe this to be played to heavily. i believe this should be played lighter. now, these are merely the beliefs of one who has accomplished nothing and knows, hey presto, nothing! would sultanov really care what some asshole on the internet thinks of his playing?

совсем уж грубо то так зачем.. когда моложе был, слушать было намного приятней. зачем превращать игру на рояле в карате(

@hlpianin, не вам критиковать великого артиста. он играет не грубо, а масштабно и мощно.

...this is a horrible recording...but he has that "don't give a damn" attitude towards the interpretation...kinda the usual for Sultanov...

No matter how old Sultanov got, he always looked like a young prodigy.

you're playing this as if it were rachmaninoff. it's liszt(with a hint of light russian thanks to horowitz) not full blown mussorgsky!
please try not to muddle it
other than that good performance
