Anyway, I watched a youtube video of the original player, Modistone, playing this piece, and I noticed that he plays only two of the chord notes instead of all three like its written on the sheet music. I found that I had to modify it too because playing all three notes of the chords is difficult to do because the notes are far apart and the fingers of the hand has to reach far to play them. Anyways, just wanted to share my experience learning to play this piece.

What makes playing the chords even more difficult is that your playing the left hand arpeggios the same time you're playing the chords, and both hands are jumping around a lot. So your attention is divided between the two hands and that makes it difficult to concentrate on playing the right notes. That's what I find most difficult about playing this piece.

Numb is one of my favorite songs to listen to, and when I came across this video and heard it played on the piano , I fell in love with it and just had to learn how to play it. What's tricky about playing this piece is that the left hand jumps around a lot to play those arpeggios and at the same time you have to play chords. What's tricky with the chords is that they jump across several keys making it difficult to play them accurately.

I just got some sheet music for free off the internet, and I'm now learning how to play this piece on the piano. Right now, I'm practicing the first 9 measures. The hardest part is the chords. I run into problems when its time to play the chords. I get frustrated trying to precisely place my hands on the correct keys to play the chords. I have to practice the piece very slowly because those damn chords are just tricky to play.
