    CHOEYSANGEL

  • Come to mama Kim baby & I will rock your world! hahaha

  • Tell ya what honey, the whole band be sweet. And oh yeah, the acoustic guitar player reminds me ever so much of the moves John Eddie puts out there, I love 'em all! His is a "turns me on tune" forever!!

  • I still have an 8-track !!! not the best of shape... Love, love this song.. Hubby's and my song from back in the dating era of the 70's...

  • Not even close to the studio version, which is a lot better!

  • @marysteele5000 Correction-another live version on here is it, I thought it was a studio version. It had 7,567 clicks as of 10 16 2011 and this was the post information. Uploaded by deafsubtitles on Aug 15, 2010

  • Why are they showing so much of the backup singers and guitar player? Focus on Andy for heaven's sake!!!

  • He just looks like he enjoys his time on stage and that he is a decent human being. Way to go, Andy!

  • Great song. I just saw Andy Kim Live at the CNE. Sept.3 2011. He threw out a T-shirt With this song written on it. I got it and he signed it. This song brings back memories of my youth. At my school graduation dance this is the only song I remembered. Glad to have met him. My favourite song by him. Thanks for this song Andy! Yours truly, Vincent

  • man i wish there was a better copy of this, this perf is awesome

  • Thanks for the vid. I heard an interview he gave Jian Gomesh on Q. He sounded so artistic, creative and still very energetic. I only ever heard his voice on the radio all those years ago and it's amazing how little it's changed. I'm interested in his newest music as well. Thanks for the clip to remind me.

  • The bass guitarist is some kind of a fag trying to upstage Andy Kim with his facial antics. What a COMPLETE asshole. Real cocksucker that guy.

  • He looks like he on something.and the pants shrunk..LMAO

  • He looks like he on something.and the pants shrunk..LMAO

  • Tribute to great Canadian songwriters.

  • I LOVE UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU - LOVE THIS SONG SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow I still want him

  • i just love this song I can remember listening to it on a 45 over and over and over again

  • Another great Canadian musician! Rock on Canada... gently

  • Way cool. I mean way effing cool. Nice transitions and good musical spirit, taking liberties with bringing the song to a place that doesn't sound exactly like the studio version. I would pay to see Andy Kim in a second.

  • Allow me to jump on the "hot little backup singer" bandwagon. :) Also, excellent performance.

  • hahahah! This is a hoot!

The look, the way they move, and how "into it" they are. Especially the little background singer, and the guitarists...

It would be hilarious to transport the entire group and their performance into present day and have them perform for the same age group that would've been watching back then, and see the reaction. Thanks for posting lol

  • UAU!!!!!!!....Esse cara transpira sexualidade....

  • I'm in love with that smokin' hot tambourine babe!

  • Oh this brings back so many good memories of the good old 70's! :-)

  • I-for one-can't take my eyes off of the dirty blond girl!!!!!!!

  • Amazing... wonderfuuuuulll.. i love this song.. I'm Brasilian, and meet Andy 3 weaks ago... man.. first love... this is a very special music... parabéns, Andy..(congrats, andy)

  • Great Version:):) My Dad Had This On His Juke Box In Our Living Room When We Were Growing Up:):) Still Kewl:):)

  • when were this..?

  • even fuzzy this is my favorite version on youtube. love the song, love the band, love watching all of them in this performance

  • They called it Bubblegum at the time...I was there. Rockers looked down on this music because it wasn't "hard rock".

But there is so much joy in this music and lyrics that are sexual in a sweet way that I could never help but love this stuff.

    Andy Kim is the King!

Pour a little sugar on it Andy!

  • luv this song

  • I have to pipe in here.

Andy did love his father very much and still misses him terribly to this day.

Andy was born in Montreal Canada. Is Canadian, always will be Canadian.

  • Is that Vinnie Colaiuta on the skins? The drummer is the best musician there!

  • @ronedee Yes the drummer was my favourite and also the acoustic guitar as well:)

  • Richard, your comments on Andy are enlightening, but I have a question.

When did Andy and his mom move to Montreal and did the dad come up later?

    Thanks

  • Now the Youakim's live on the Syrian side. As my great, great, grandfather got both sides together and said " WHY FIGHT"..both sides gave him awards...Now one of the Youakim's came to America to help ensure all Arab people to live in the U.S. I know, I have all of his paper work's, New York and so on....Andy and his dad really didn't get along, I remember him playing his guitar on the couch I was 4 years old in 1965....!

  • Andrew Joseph Youakim, was living down in Kentucky with his dad. Then decide to move up north with his mom. I should know because my grandma's name is Amena Youakim her brother was Joseph Youakim, Andy's father. Our great, great Grandfather stop a war with Syrians and Lebanon. We were on the Lebanese side. They were fighting for land that my ancestor's live on for hundred's of years. As leader of the clan as it was written' as it be told: NEVER TRUST LEADERS OF THE WORLD, ONLY TRUST THE PEOPLE.

  • Why do all the biographies i've seen say he came from Canada? Even on his own website it says he came from Canada. Why would he bother to lie about it? Unless it would be really embarrassing to admit that you come from Kentucky.

  • Why can't the reincarnated Jesus Christ play any musical instruments? Because the GOD-DAMNED nosy bastards are keeping HER crucified.

  • Oh Andy, I love this so much as others do. Are you going to release it for us to buy? Love your eyes and nose and teeth and butt and voice and ...everything. Love and hugs

    Brit lost in Canada XX

  • Yep, 1974. My first love was moving to Charlotte, without me. I was devastated. But then, I was only 16 and he was 19. We are still dear friends and this song makes me smile as I stroll down a happy memory lane that we shared together in 1973 & 1974. Thank you Scott!

  • The tambourine babe is STUNNING! Wish I knew who she was, and where else I could view her.

  • that little tambourine chick is super fine!!!!

  • Ooh yeah....and just check out the way she sways to and fro around 0:45 charming and sweet...

  • Long time ago 1974 my ex girlfriend Linda (she is my wife now) went to visit me while I was working at the Marriott Hotel in Acapulco Mexico ( I play the bass guitar) and she gave me this record as a present than next day we practice and one more song for the band's repertory !

  • Simple lyrics. Lucky duck.

  • The woman with the tambourine is one smokin' hot babe!

  • I am not a professional musician but I heard that playing a tambourine professionally is actually quite difficult and is not as easy as it looks...

  • Great song.

    I'm loving it.

  • This is a great video . Andy has aged very well, He's more sexy than he was 35 years ago.

  • Totally agree! What a cutie!!

  • I thought maybe it' was because I'm almost 49 , thought my hormones were getting wacky . I just can't get enough of this video !

  • That must be it - I'm almost 47 and I can't get this darn song/videos (also been watching the old version from like 1974) out of my head ;-) damn, wish I aged that well...

  • Ahhhhh , The 1974 video - The one with the nice pants , I watch these two videos all the time too . I'm also listening to the CD in the car , even sent for his newest CD (autgraphed signed "with love") only 20 bucks , including shipping . Feel like I'm in high school again , with a crush on my math teacher or something .

  • Maybe we could start a support group - MALLAKLAT - "Middle Aged Ladies Loving Andy Kim Like a Teenager" ;-)

  • Sounds like a good idea , I think alot of these comments are coming from people around the same age .

  • @purduemo clearly the mediterenean genes age much better than caucasians. My dad looked great for a very long time and that is his ancestory. Perhaps he's had some help though.

  • Wow - I bought this in 1974 - still one of my favourite songs. Andy . . so sexy, still.

We dont make stars like him anymore!!!

  • yes Neil Diamond does sing this, it sounds quite similar in a lot of ways

  • andy has a greek father and a aboriginal mother and they moved to canada from australia in 71

  • yes, he was born in montreal; his parents are christians from lebanon..

  • He's a Lebanese-Canadian, thank you very much.

  • haha...whenever i hear this song the only thing that comes to mind is that jeep commercial...

  • LOL...I thought Neil diamond sung this.

  • HAHAHA I thought Neil Diamond sung this too. Well blow me down with a feather!!! Hahahaha. Ripper Bonzer Bewdy!! lol.

  • Very under rated artist. Never heard him sing this---I only have my 45 from the 70's.!! Very good! His version of "Baby, I Love You" is great!!

  • unfreakinbelievable...bette than his original version that I had on a "K-Tel" album when I was 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the 70s produce some great music from bands like the eagles, jackson brown, etc. I grew up in 70s and 80s and it was an interesting time. MTV made music into videos.

  • Glad I found this today. Was a great make out song in 1974. Ha!

  • People thought this video was 74' haha more like in 2000's

  • Who's the blonde chick with the tamborine...rrrrraaaaaoooo!

  • Daughter

  • I love this era of music. How do you categorize songs like this? What are some other songs similar to this one? I'm trying to search for all of them. I found like "Love Goes Where My Rosemary Goes," and "I Think I Love You."

  • great song i think andy was born in australia to aboriginal mother and greek father this is how he got the darker skin tone

  • No -- check my comments below. He's of Lebanese origin, and from my hometown, Montreal.

  • bit sexy for a morning tv show!

  • how old is this clip

  • Andy Kim sounds very similar to Neil Diamond. Wonder if Baron Longfellow, aka Andy Kim is Jewish?

  • Andy Kim isn't Jewish. He is Lebanese-Canadian and was born Andrew Joachim. And yes, he used the name Baron Longfellow during the 1980s for a brief time.

  • Yeah, easy sometimes to get middle-eastern background people mixed up. That's cool he's Lebanese-Canadian, i go to a little Lebanese restaurant called Shawarma-Time, his best song is I'm Gonna Need a Miracle Tonight

  • I love it

but is he married or gay/?

  • WOW!!! this song brings back memories of a simpler time & my childhood. I have always loved this song.

  • Is the rhythm acoustic guitar player Rod Blagojevich?

  • sorry Miguel, two earrings were post millenium, one earring was earlier...hate to be pedantic...couldn't sleep not being totally correct...

  • One of the classic 70s songs. The backing singer reminds me of Mariah Carey (with the tambourine).

  • Yeah - That one with the tambouring was mega-hot, considering this was 35 years ago.....Jees, I was 5 in 1974

  • This video wasn't shot in 1974 - it's pretty recent. The song was recorded in 1974, though.

  • Thank you -- Yeah, Andy Kim has that present-day Tom Jones look going on Anyway, going back to the women :) the brunette could be his wife, but the blonde could be his daughter

  • He is doing his wife and his daughter? That is sick, Dana Steve! I threw up on my keyboard when I read this, and now I have a nosebleed. I hope you fry baloney, you commie!

  • Fry baloney? Read my post again, ding-dong! Going back to the women though...that blonde does work the tambourine pretty good at the end

  • Hey Miguel 2942,

He was around 22 when he recorded this - the CTV vid was very recent and the 2 earrings are new millenium - they make him my sexy gypsy

  • there's something about the way the light haired back-up singer sways at 0:46.......

  • Oh my God Sailor/64delftlover .... I woke up this morning totally needing to hear this song -like couldnt wait to log on just to hear it!!!!!!

  • Wow. Ear rings on both sides for a guy in 1974? What did that mean back then? How old is this guy now? He looks like he was about 50 when this was recorded.

  • Who are the backup singers?

  • I don't know how long it's been since I heard this, but for no reason I can fathom, I woke up with it in my head. I just had to find it.

And here it is. Great song. Thanks for posting.

  • Wow, Sailor, I just did the exact same thing. I was trying to think of a song that reminded me of being a kid and that warm and fuzzy feeling and here it is...

  • It was announced on the Bill Carroll radio show, 1010 CFRB Toronto Can. this morning that the Christmas show on December 10th, 2008 is now SOLD OUT!

2 weeks to go and it's SOLD OUT!

Perhaps a 2nd show would be a great idea.

    Way to go ANDY!!!!

    You're AWESOME!

  • sounded better in the animals in the backseat commercial

  • i bet he is a little older than 56 -about 10 years

  • I thought this song was sung by Neil Diamond for the longest time - they sound kinda alike.

  • THe 4th Annual Andy Kim Christmas Show will be held on December 10th, 2008 at the Mod Club,Toronto, Canada. All money raised at this great charity event will go to the Sanfilippo Children's Research Foundation.

A spectacular night of outstanding entertainment for a worthy cause. Tickets are $25.00,through ticketmaster & livenation.

  • I just read Andy Kim is playing at the Hershey Center, Mississauga, Ontario on Sat. Nov. 22,2008 7PM and at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton on Sun. Nov. 23rd, 2008 @ 2PM.

Puts on a great show. Saw him in Florida 2 weeks ago.

  • that white lady thick

  • One of the best love songs of all time!

  • This is quite similar to the terrific version he did at the Riveria, Las Vegas, 2003 with Ron Dante show. Andy stole the show with the most dynamic version of this (and all his other hits). Today, at 56, he still has all that hair and great smile. How's he do that? C'mon back to Vegas, Andy! Toni Wine does Southpoint, New Years Eve -- join up!

  • At first, back in the early '70's, thought this was David Cassidy !!

  • Great backup singers and band. I havent heard this one for awhile.

  • "Singer-songwriter Andy Kim, the son of Lebanese immigrants,

was born Andrew Joachim in Montreal on December 5, 1952. " from Hit Parade Hall of Fame

He's Canadian and his parents are from Lebanon. Just because somebody put a song of his online with some aboriginal paintings that doesn't make him aboriginal, sorry.

  • andy kim is not canadian he is actually part aboriginal and plays the didgeredoo better than rolf harris where this lebanese stuff came from i do not know

  • Well he was born in Montreal, Quebec Canada so wouldn't that make him Canadian??

  • Yes...and he IS Lebanese. He's not aboriginal.

  • lol

  • great song... michael are you listening. this is for you. thanks for sharing this great song.

  • Did he pinch the title from the book by Judith Kelly?

  • This one never gets old.

  • the Jeep commercail is great though :)

  • lol yeah, good stuff here

  • Hi - might be the only memorable song of his - but catchy and fun

  • anyone know who the backup singers are?

  • He still looks hot!!

  • Wow! How immature can you be!

  • seriously!!

  • I doubt there's many people who've heard this song and not thought that.

  • lmao

  • You should put the year of this show in your heading. It's interesting to know when this was recorded.

  • Hi, this CTV AM 'Rock Me Gently' was recorded in Dec. 2006. Andy and his band sound amazing!

  • IT SOUNDS GREAT. ARE U A SINGER ?

  • Well, I can hear it fine, but the audio quality could be a bit better.

  • I was watching again and in the middle...when the keyboard stops...then starts..it sounds a lot like "Walk On The Wild Side"...for just a little bit. Ah, Andy, such a lovely man. This video makes me smile and forget me worries. Peace.

  • BTW, bass player not too bad himself!

  • U CAN SAY THAT AGAIN.

  • I noticed that he's wearing the sames earrings in a much earlier video. I wonder if there is a significance to these particular earrings. Very sexy man and wonderful singer/songwriter.

  • I AGREE.

  • Hey fuzzr14,

Some of us are and some of us aren't but one thing we all have in common is a forty-year fascination with Andy's music. It just bothers us to know how many people don't even look at the music. A little Googling reveals how much is out there. Rock Me Gently could be considered his signature song but he's written scores of them. Ever heard AMOUR?

Thanks for your input. If you're here, you must be interested in this music.

By the way, we're really nice people.

  • YEAH, AND HOW ABOUT SUGAR, SUGAR.

  • Andy Kim sounds great. Hope to see him in concert one of these days.

  • last time's songs sounds better than todays

  • For a tv appearance at Canada AM which was taped at 6 in the morning, as Andy and his band just came off of an enormously successful Christmas Show, they look and sound AMAZING. Just enjoy the song and keep your rude comments to yourself.

  • Egg me on some more. You obviously haven't seen some of the really rude comments I've seen posted for things. The eye comment was a joke for God sake, just commenting on the way the world was back in the 70's when I was young and this song came out. That's when I thought this video was from, not a recent performance. MEA CULPA.

  • I have indeed seen some of the very rude comments. That doesn't mean those of us who can construct a decent sentence have to follow suit or that we can't keep some thoughts to ourselves. I appreciate your admission of your mistake. Well said. That video is indeed very recent.

  • How many of todays so called singers will still be able to belt out their hits and look as good after 30 years????

  • Ditto dsdtns.

For those other comments, I might pay attention to what you have to say when you can appear on a live TV show at the crack of dawn and stay on key.

However old you are, grow up. It's showbiz and not everything is what you perceive it to be. Think a little before you make rude comments.

  • Ease up, I was commenting to DaisyVanHalen from a week ago about her "weed" comment. And I didn't say anything about her "ass" comment, which was more insulting. And let's face it, if we are on YouTube to begin with, we should all be growing up!

  • bet he was nailin the tamborine player...LOL great song!!!

  • That's exactly what I thought!! She looked pretty happy, like "Yeah! I'm NOT going to rock him gently, later!!"
