@SplitWindowSyndicate you should keep up the good work, more splitties need saving!! There are some in England I have heard of that needs doing up NOW before its too late and this place in Switzerland where there are some rusting away (both Bug and Bus splitties).
The truck is complete. You can see it in its own video: Single Cab and it also makes a cameo in Aircooled October. I also drove it out to Lake Havasu, AZ for Buses by the Bridge.
Was the last part of the vid taken en route to? Looks like just east of Ash Fork, AZ. Awesome vehicles! My parents have a '69 and '84 Camper - neither working right now. We still want to go to the Buses by the Bridge, since it's just 150 miles to get there for us. Good job!!
My buddy John Hargadon welds those frames for Spot Bikes in Golden, CO. He does aluminum, steel, and titanium. Spot Bikes has a website, search for them on google.
I agree. I never like to see any VW rot in a salvage yard or someone's backyard for that matter. As a proud owner of a vintage 1963 Kombi, I can attest to that, I have owned it for over 6 years, even having to replace both the transmission and the whole rear axle system (from a junked-out 1963 Single Cab) couldn't stop me from still owning (and driving) it.
BTW, Do you know where I can find some OEM Split Bus bumpers (rear and front), my Kombi is in dire need of them.
