  • @SplitWindowSyndicate you should keep up the good work, more splitties need saving!! There are some in England I have heard of that needs doing up NOW before its too late and this place in Switzerland where there are some rusting away (both Bug and Bus splitties).

  • Yes you are right, we were on our way to California. Thanks, keep bussin. See you at BBB 2010.

  • Did SWS ever finish the single cab at the end ?!?

If so where could I find pics?

  • The truck is complete. You can see it in its own video: Single Cab and it also makes a cameo in Aircooled October. I also drove it out to Lake Havasu, AZ for Buses by the Bridge.

  • Was the last part of the vid taken en route to? Looks like just east of Ash Fork, AZ. Awesome vehicles! My parents have a '69 and '84 Camper - neither working right now. We still want to go to the Buses by the Bridge, since it's just 150 miles to get there for us. Good job!!

  • very sexy

  • thats awesome man keep saveing them!!

  • I agree. I never like to see any VW rot in a salvage yard or someone's backyard for that matter. As a proud owner of a vintage 1963 Kombi, I can attest to that, I have owned it for over 6 years, even having to replace both the transmission and the whole rear axle system (from a junked-out 1963 Single Cab) couldn't stop me from still owning (and driving) it.

BTW, Do you know where I can find some OEM Split Bus bumpers (rear and front), my Kombi is in dire need of them.

    Thanks,

    Ray Jackson

  • Keep Dubbin, bumpers try BBB in Lake Havasu this year. Jan 16th - 18th 2009. Good luck.
