If she walked into a room today, looking the way she did from that famous red dress scene in GWTW, I'm certain she would literally take my breath away...
I think my most favourite bit about her(apart from her beautiful appearance) is her eyebrow lol, whenever she feels suspicious or angry it goes up, looks very sexy >:3
@xmoaningturtlesx That eyebrow expression was her trademark. I don't know how she did it, but it's completely her own. I think I've only seen one other actress try to do (don't know who.) it, and I was pissed. That look is hers, and hers alone. :)
@easysimple102011 ok thats great that you want to help her out with her mental disorder and her sexual drive, thing is though she has been DEAD for quite a while now
Vivien certainly did have her problems upstairs, but beautiful women do tend to struggle with sanity - it goes with the country of their beauty, their body chemistry that makes them such. Life is cruel at times.
@yippitydodah actually physical beauty has nothing to do with mental disorders (such as viv being bi polar) where on earth did you come up with that beautiful people are struggling with insanity due to body chemistry? LOL i swear i havent laughed this hard in a long time hahahahaha thats like saying people with red hair tend to have aids due to their red hair, omg seriosuly
Naturally high histamine levels create skin beauty, but affects natural happy hormones in the brain. Always marry a handsome woman for a happy life, or a bloke with a bit of a pot belly, and never a slim arse for same opposite. That is what I have noticed, anyway. It is all swings and roundabouts in life.
Oops. my quote should have been "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn", as here, youtube copy paste and search, Vivien at her zenith in her acting life, Gone with the Wind, praaap, oops sorry - more tea vicar?
Great set of photos. And she was a truly a woman of many faces: In some she looks a throwback to almost the Victorian era, in others she looks like a woman of her times, foundation garments and all, but very modern, and yet in others she looks housewifely. Her looks and style spanned the decades.
THE DREAMS OF MR MULDOON is now out on AMAZON KINDLE @2.99.The publishers said this book would make a great film......you will love THE DREAMS OF MR MULDOON.Best wishes.
Absolute perfection. Thank you. i have been a fan since I first saw GWTW when I was 5 years old. I lost count how many time I have seen it in the past 34 years. Must be 1,000. I also saw every available film she ever made.
She was half French and half Irish like her character Scarlett O'Hara in GWTW. Also she was plagued with Bipolar disorder and tuberculosis. All the beauty masked her true illness.
@Deannie21 She was no such thing. Her father was a Yorkshireman.Hartley is a very common Yorkshire name and her mothers maiden name was Robinson. The French Irish stuff was fabricated by MGM/Selznick International to make her more acceptable to the U.S audience.
Well, Vivien had it all, beauty, talent--but sometimes that isn't enough....her mental illness almost did her in, but she kept going with her iron will...there was no treatment for it then. She was very brave. Other actresses with this illness include Gene T., Rita H., Marilyn---and yet their disability added to their performances in a way.
To my mind there were three great beauties of that era. Hedy Lamar, Gene Tierney and Vivien Leigh. All brunettes !. I believe that Vivien was of those three, the most captivating and ethereal..
Whenever I hear someone hailing Marilyn Monroe as the greatest beauty of all time, I only have to remind them of this etheral piece of elegance personified.
What a wonderful tribute to an amazing and exquisitely beautiful actress! I loved this! She was loved, admired and respected by millions - I hope she knew this.
so fragile, yet so captivating.. she has the most expressive face of all the classic beauties, so sad she struggled with mental illness and died at a young age. Wonderful actress also, I will never forget her as Blanche in A Streetcar named Desire
@LillyTing Yeah I read that too. only her mother would know that for sure. possibility is there because her family lived in India and throughout history, people have interbred freely and geneticists have shown that genes all over the world are closer to being identical then we would think. but without a doubt, she was one of the best looking human ever. wish she was alive today.
an exquisite beauty with heaps of talent. o de haviland said that on the set doing gone with the wind Vivien never needed to be told more than once how to act the part . she also got the southern accent right away. other actresses were dazzled by her ability and professionalism.
Very nice tribute. She was very beautiful. You can start to see the sadness in her eyes as she ages. It's sad she died in her 40's. She was very talented. You did a great job on making this slideshow and in order...amazing. Thanks so much!
Absolutely stunning beautiful woman. She will forever be known as Scarlett O'Hara in my book. With her raven hair, flawless skin and sparkling eyes, what more needs to be said.
Ship of Fools (1965), The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone (1961), The Deep Blue Sea (1955), A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), Anna Karenina (1948), Caesar and Cleopatra (1945), That Hamilton Woman (1941), Waterloo Bridge (1940), 21 Days (1940). she was soo beautiful, i admire her soo much ....a true legend..i don't have words to describe her...again this phrase is true:"the work will stand no matter what "!!!
@MsRussianBeauty Pity she was a bit cuckoo though, but that goes with beauty usually. Many fine lady is usually mad as a box of frogs, one stop from being checked into the local asylum. Love them. Gene Tierney is my fav.
@yippitydodah I wouldnt say she was cuckoo. She was bi-polar but had really bad reactions to all her meds. I think withh today's health care she would have been just fine.
Ask her one time husband, if he was still alive, Laurence Olivier, she was seriously ill, and even these days doctors are hopless at treating such people. The advancements on histamine diet and the way some people can't break it down in the gut is advancing. Some people have a gut that only excepts fresh meat and vegitables, just cooked.

Oh my god, how beautiful she is at 1:00. I simply adore Vivian, I do, and out of all the many lovely shots I have seen of her, that one just touches my heart as to have captured, something a bit more authentic, then her thearter like presence in many of the pictures. I had to go back to it several times. I wish you would have left it on a bit longer, I do. None the less, Thank you very much for this post. Oh and what lovely music also, just lovely it is!
BRAVO!!! Excellent video, and music well chosen!! two thumbs up, my friend. This must be one of the most touching videos I've seen in Youtube so far. It's like a biography thru images.
@Altabeira I agree, she's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. The brunettes do it every time; makes you wonder about all the bleached hair you see nowadays. What a lovely face she had.
The first song is Que Sera Sera by Andre Rieu and then Facination by Andre Rieu and then its Traumerei by Robert Schumann All songs on all of my videos are listed in the credits
I admire Vivien Leigh for refusing to be typed, for never allowing stunning beauty to interfere with, or take precedence over being mistress of her craft. She was a
Beautiful video!!! Vivien was really one of the most talented actresses and surely the the most gorgeous in the whole wide world. Thanks for sharing this great tribute to her.
Vivien Is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!! I heard that she had chronic depression and actually needed shock therapy for it. That's like, inhumane! She was an amazing actress and died way to soon. Rest in Peace. Miss Leigh. :(
Thank you so much for this! I am going to cry! Where in heavens name did you get all the pictures and the music! YOU are a true Vivian Fan! I could cry and I thank you so much...she is such a lovely one for us to remember and recognize from time to time. Thank you so much Miss CeCeleigh! What is the name of the song? That picture of her on the steps at Tara...Oh how breathtaking! Let us remember her every Nov. 4th her birthday!
Vivien was SO pretty!! Truly can't believe she was insecure about the way she looked.. &Nice video, and music -- I especially like the 'Que Sera', so fitting when it comes to paying attention to a whole life (:
I read somewhere that her mother's heritage was vague and in doubt. didn't she also have Indian blood line? a lot of mixing in her genes gave her beauty that is so rare. I can't find it in today's actresses and models. Vivien could've been a model too if she wanted to.
It is somewhat vague but they say that she was irish and she was english...There could have been an Indian bloodline but she said that she was spanish...
She was a model once, she posed for magazines and one of them was vogue....I have those pictures in one of my videos called "Vivien in Vogue"
@dhom100 Highly doubtful. Liz Taylor, another British beauty, looked very much like Vivien (although I prefer Vivien a lot more). From the perspective of anthropology, her beauty is typical English with Mediterranean admixture here and there, but mostly northern European.
She was a rare beauty the kind that captures the viewers and comes along only once in a lifetime or so. Are you of the last name Leigh? Are you related to her? Do you know her ethnicity? Thanks
She was beautiful and, above all, a great actress. You know, she didn't change much, but there is something so different about her last portraits, though i can't quite place what - age aside, of course.
Thank you for putting this together. I loved the music, bittersweet, I would describe it. And it was wonderful to see all this diferent pictures of her throughout her life.
You did a great job CeCeLeighCMD92 !! I wasn't a big fan of hers before I watched Gone With The Wind and after watching your touching slideshow,I think I am starting to love her!!!! She was really beautiful but died at such a young age which makes me feel kinda sad...
I am told that she died of tubercolosis. Can anyone tell me what disease it is??
I am glad that you like the vid. Vivien is a really great actress and she also had an intersting life.
Tuberculosis is a contagious disease that infects systems of the body. For Vivien it infected her lung. Her left lung had a black patch on it. She ended up dying from it because her lungs filled with fluid and she suffocated.
I love portraits they did back then! My mum has many of them and they are stunning. Its too bad that in todays century they do not do these type of photos anymore, its such a pity.
These priceless photographs, appropriately put to beautiful music, are such a loving and august tribute, to an ELEGANT, BEAUTIFUL woman who gave one hundred percent of her versitle, uniquely executed talent, to the world.. ALWAYS one of my most revered actresses as she is to MANY, MANY thousands around the globe, she will NEVER be forgotten.
Thank you so much, CeCe, for this nostalgic and rewarding presentation.. and I am proud to meet you, my dear..
Vivien was a great artist and a great person. She will always be remembered for the great contribution she gave to the movies and also the theatre world. She was also very kind to her fans and anybody that she had met, she had a very great and special personality.... You are very right....She will never be forgotten, her memory will live on......
I completely agree 100%! When u think back in the 30's and 40's they had no airbrushing, no digitally altered pictures, all u see is her in make-up, and it looks like light make-up at that, which highlights her really gorgeous features even more! I'm sure without make-up she would have been just as beautiful! Alot of the stars today couldn't get away with looking so naturally beautiful, so flawlessly?! She is a diamond in a vast ocean of stones!
I like Waterloo Bridge but it is very sad at the end...I like GWTW of course but I also like St. Martin Lane. That is a REALLY good movie of hers, this movie was before GWTW.....I like all of her movies....They are all good.......Thanks I am glad that you liked the video.....
A classic beauty in every sense of the word!!! One of the most stunning women to have graced the planet!

She was a
consummate actress.

This was awesome, what a fiting tribute to a superb actress and stunningly beautiful woman, who was taken from us all too soon.

Wow. Such a stunning and iconic woman. Touching presentation :' )

4th her birthday!

she sure was a beauty.

I read somewhere that her mother's heritage was vague and in doubt. didn't she also have Indian blood line? a lot of mixing in her genes gave her beauty that is so rare. I can't find it in today's actresses and models. Vivien could've been a model too if she wanted to.
dhom100 2 years ago
It is somewhat vague but they say that she was irish and she was english...There could have been an Indian bloodline but she said that she was spanish...
She was a model once, she posed for magazines and one of them was vogue....I have those pictures in one of my videos called "Vivien in Vogue"
CeCeLeighCMD92 2 years ago
@dhom100 Highly doubtful. Liz Taylor, another British beauty, looked very much like Vivien (although I prefer Vivien a lot more). From the perspective of anthropology, her beauty is typical English with Mediterranean admixture here and there, but mostly northern European.
astraiiia 1 year ago
She was a rare beauty the kind that captures the viewers and comes along only once in a lifetime or so. Are you of the last name Leigh? Are you related to her? Do you know her ethnicity? Thanks
newbegin1 2 years ago
I am not related to Vivien Leigh. But I know that her enthicity is english, french, irish and she said spanish.

Can anyone tell me what disease it is??
lazyisa 3 years ago
I am glad that you like the vid. Vivien is a really great actress and she also had an intersting life.
Tuberculosis is a contagious disease that infects systems of the body. For Vivien it infected her lung. Her left lung had a black patch on it. She ended up dying from it because her lungs filled with fluid and she suffocated.

I couldn't imagine any other actress playing Scarlett...There were many big stars at the time who auditioned but Vivien was the best.

I love portraits they did back then! My mum has many of them and they are stunning. Its too bad that in todays century they do not do these type of photos anymore, its such a pity.
MojeSerduszko1 3 years ago
What kind of potraits does she have? Who are they of?

My mother was THE image of Vivien Leigh.I should post some pictures to prove it.So much so it was commented on.She even had the same mannerisms.
She died in 2005 and I still can't watch Viv without crying.

Wow, you should post pictures...It is very rare for someone to look very close to the image of Vivien.......

These priceless photographs, appropriately put to beautiful music, are such a loving and august tribute, to an ELEGANT, BEAUTIFUL woman who gave one hundred percent of her versitle, uniquely executed talent, to the world.. the most beautiful woman ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tauryluck 3 years ago
She is the greatest beauty ever to hit the silver screen!
CeCeLeighCMD92 3 years ago
I completely agree 100%! When u think back in the 30's and 40's they had no airbrushing, no digitally altered pictures, all u see is her in make-up, and it looks like light make-up at that, which highlights her really gorgeous features even more! I'm sure without make-up she would have been just as beautiful! Alot of the stars today couldn't get away with looking so naturally beautiful, so flawlessly?! She is a diamond in a vast ocean of stones!

P.S- Waterloo road is one of my fav films of all time and obviously Gone with the wind too! The colletion of photos u av done are lovely!x
