Why are all the questions the interviewer's asking leading to a "No, no," from Thom and Ed? Does asking negative-leading questions good for getting a more passionate answer from the two? Is it considered more entertaining to watch a band argue the meanings and purposes of everything they're doing/have done? Or did the interviewer simply misinterpret everything? Personally, I just find this annoying of the interviewer's part.
@kman5473 The reason theyre answering so honestly is because the interviewer is neither bumming their music nor slating it. He's asking the why behind the music. You can tell they respect that, and argument creates the best answers.
Wierd fishes /Arpeggi is one of the best pieces of music of the last 10 years. When i heard it for the first time on radio1 i had to stop what i was doing and listen, it still holds up after listening to it many times. Radiohead are a great band and very important for popular music.
House of Cards! My favorite Radiohead song! (Besides No Surprises). Great interview, the interviewer did a great job. Loved seeing them so open, especially Thom. He's fascinating to listen to
definitely one of the best radiohead interviews i've seen... a well informed interviewer with excellent questions... definitely a change from 'SO WHY ARE YOU GUYS SO SAD ALL THE TIME? CHEER UP LOL WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE SONG ON THE ALBUM'
@gpeddino Agreed. I have heard Thom say they all wanted to "throw themselves off a cliff" after their HTTT tour. My guess this was the last straw of being produced, pushed and sold. That, plus HTTT was a politically-driven work so perhaps there is a lot of negativity associated. Anyway, it's not my fav album but Punch Up, Gloaming, There There, Where I End are absolutely brilliant.
If you can produce another album as incredible as In Rainbows, I say those dark places are worth going to again...

Ed's definition of a pop song is probably a popular song (pop is actually the abbreviation of popular)

0:36 I highly doubt Ed loved House of Cards cause he thought it'd be a pop song. Who the hell would think that?!

Wow, that live 2+2=5 performance at 7:44 sounded awesome! I've heard that song live several times before in the past but not quite like that.

I don't get the feeling of dissatisfaction Thom has concerning HTTT. I think it's definitely one of their finest labums.
