  • wow. this is depressing. how odd is it that there's an "anti-racist" training program for whites only. i don't know why i'm surprised, as every person who i've met who calls themselves "anti-racist," especially those from mostly white areas on the west coast, looks at race issues from this condescending prospective that completely erases pocs from the equation. we're not your community service; we're not your absolution. this is gross.

  • Why do none of the anti-racists have an identifiable gender?

  • Im reluctant to support "anti-racist" organisations which only focus on racism in one particular direction. Racism and bigotry is directed at many different people. I live in Bethnal Green, London where many of the Muslims of Pakistani and Bangladeshi extraction have a well developed racist streak against Black and White Britons. This form of racism is often justified by bits of the Koran such as "the property of the left hand" - which is a section about slaves and concubines.

  • Lovely video! I know someone who went through this program {there is a picture of you with her} and she seemed to have enjoyed it. Hopefully more programs like this will pop up! :)

  • NICE

  • This is weird to see; like at first I was laughing. The fact that there is a need for this, that these classes exist, that there are folks willing to go to it, etc... Then I thought atleast your trying. A long bit ago I stopped talking to my white/socially white-identified peers on race and the core of it. It's too much for them to accept and I guess it scarred me because I was just making fun of y'all but its a work in process for me aswell.

PS Yah on including working class people!

  • oh, this is so cool. thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this.

  • wow i woul love to join great vid

  • we've played the beginning game with inmates participating in our alternatives to violence program. i adore this video. It's eye opening and sounds like something I'd love to be involved in.

    Love, Jackie

  • niice :D

  • This is exactly the sort of thing I have been looking at getting involved in. I think this video will inspire others to get out there and "save the world" bc it can happen today, it can happen right now. we need to all learn to do our part in one way or another to help better this world and in turn, it betters us as human beings. it's a circle of love and i hope others will jump in and take someone's hand. we're all in this together. thanks charles for being a part of the youtube community. :)

  • You said the bay area. Where is this?

  • San Francisco/Oakland, CA!

  • Hey Charlie, The cool things you do ,wow Go forth and do good, Help your fellow man. Andrew.

  • Thanks for sharing this fine promo/about us production Charles. I hope it encourages others to create similar organizations/workshops.

  • This is great!

  • This is a brilliant idea, Hope Not Hate, the anti-racist organisation I'm part of in the UK have been doing something similar recently. We've trying to do it for years but practicality has made it more occassional workshops than anything else, but since the British National Party (a racist political party over here) won two seats in the EU elections our support has grown so much we can finally get this moving.

The anti-racist movement is crucial, keep up the good work guys! :)

  • how fantastic!

  • During my time at the university where I teach, I put together a team-taught course called "Radical Whiteness." I and the other faculty member received a lot of institutional pressure to cancel it, including white students complaining to the dean that our class was "racist." It was a huge success, but the university didn't keep the class in its catalog. We would certainly have benefited from a program like this! Thanks for sharing, man.
