just because you cant relate the film with your personal life in some way and dont like it doesnt mean its a bad movie. Just say you couldnt relate to it, but dont say it was a god awful film, thats just ignorant.
@ComedyRoundTheCorner it deserved all the critical acclaim it received. but hey it's not for everyone. i think transformers 3 was just released on dvd : ) jk
@07foxmulder Joke's on you mate, can't stand the Transformers films, horribly made, don't get me wrong, I've got a great taste in films, but as far as Vanilla Sky goes, it's an empty and vaccuos shell of a film.
I enjoyed this movie, however I thought the characters were boring, the plot was beyond stupid, and the ending wasn' t the best. With that said I did enjoy the twists and turns as this is one of the only movies I couldn't figure out ahead of time. This is a movie I'm glad I saw once but will never see again.
movies like "the matrix" or "inception" have spectacular visual effects but what they lack is complex characters which Vanilla Sky has...you really have to be open minded about movie like this...
I'll never watch this movie. Everything about it bores me. Watched the beginning, bored and shut it off, bits and pieces elsewhere, bored. This movie has the power to repulse. Just like "MIchael" with john travolta, a sleepfest.
I thought it was a very silly movie and rather sloppily plotted in some ways--but nevertheless pretty involving purely for the mystery of its story and surprisingly interesting characters. I certainly won't be seeing it again but I'm quite glad I saw it once.
Ebert got a lot softer as time went on. he was way more critical in the 80's and most of the 90's. he wasn't easy to please.....that certainly changed.
@bulls1 Yes, but this looks like a good film. I hevent seen it yet but it looks good. However I do agree with what you said, just look at his review for the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"
Just watched this film again and oh..I love this movie so much..the ending is hypnotising with the dreamy music of Sigur Ros...just amazing. Tom Cruise performance was outstanding, so was Penelope Cruz.
This movie has such a good soundtrack. I think this was the movie that made me discover Sigur Ros. ''Rez'' by Underworld in the disco scene is an awesome song too.
It only got 40% on Rotten Tomatoes, though...guess this is not a film for everyone.

One of the most overrated film's ever made, and one of my personal least favourite films of all time, it's up there with Blair Witch Project.

@ComedyRoundTheCorner I liked it :D
But you can't really call it overrated, because it seems like most people hate it LOL

@nmycon Correction, the majority of critics and people alike love it, Best Picture nomination? Overrated.
