I just paid a ton of money to replace cracked glass on my 3 week old iPhone 3GS. Good reviews of the otterbox! I'm definitely buying one as avoiding the expensive operation of replacing the glass is worth other hassles.
Some users have experienced an echo during calls when using this case. OtterBox, on their website, states that it may be due to iPhone OS 3.0 or 3GS hardware (not sure which) and provides a remedy to this 'echo' issue.
Earlier versions of the Defender Case covered the 'silent' switch, later versions (like in this video) do not. Otterbox is always improving their products - holster was previously revised and rumor has it they are revising the belt clip for the Defender case. Make sure case is made for the 3GS or 3G before you purchase - some earlier 3G Defender cases were not 3GS-friendly. I'll be buying from OtterBox directly to assure I don't get an older version, as I have a 3GS.
Just a word of advice, the headphone jack cap is made of silicone, which means that, if you're handy with a sharp knife and small scissors, you can easily shape it to fit perfectly into the plastic case. Just shave off a tenth of a milimeter at a time from the side which pops up until it fits, just be careful not to shave too much or it will become loose. The best tools for this would be a segmented blade utility knife and the tiniest sharpest scissors you can find. Cheers
hey great vid man. you touched everything. Ih ave the scratches on the screen too. the grime really gets in that sensor hole and the window on the back. Thanks a bunch for the shoutout. that's mondo cool man. And a giveaway? sweet. I hope to do one soon but like you said the economy is bad. 5 stars peace.
