I was going to integrate a simple push-button and hope to god no one ground my starter by accident after the car was running, but between the F14 switch and what appears to be a timed bypass relay deactivating the circuit after a few seconds, this setup is bloody genius.

It's a gimmick no doubt, but at least you can defend that you have "racing technology" since the idea is that if you spin the car and/or stall the engine, you can shift into first gear while starting the engine at the same time.

Fun little toy though, if it's a home made hobby, why not? Different strokes for different folks.

@Superutubeking At my shop, we have run into a few situations where the ignition lock housing wears a little and allows the ignition switch behind the lock cylinder just enough play that it can't fully engage the starter position. I have this very problem in my Corrado. As a good used housing for it isn't common or cheap, it's more economical to integrate a push button like this one. Plus, this one is very well planned, no accidental starter grind from people playing with it or bumping it.

And for the noobs saying they are useless and should just turn the key, I have a 1983 Ford Courier/Mazda B2000 with a buggered ignition switch, making "just turning the key" not an option for me. Installing one of these will allow me to start my car and drive around, so it isn't a stupid idea. They also look cool and are for personal preferences
