  • beau convoi et beau tracteur

  • why are there some axles lifted on the second trailer? and have you noticed how the tracking is all to pot on the second trailer, some of the axles in the middle are on full lock, but the first couple on the rear bogie hardly have any lock on them, and are being dragged sideways, must really wear the tyres does it?

  • @Haggman66 axles are lifted as the pieces only weighed a max of 70 tonnes but had to be totally supported throughout hence such a big trailer and as for the steering being all to pot, the trailer is fully steered and to come out of the dock the rear had to be manually steered to aid the trailer making the turn

  • Impressive to watch, just a bugger when I get caught behind you guys.

  • You are a Country&Western boy 'aint you??

  • Sure am, although we prefer just 'country'. lol

  • Not "both kinds of music" then? (Quote from the Blues Brothers film)

  • damage caused to foot paths or roads is paid for by whom??

  • Are you referring to anything in particular? The hauliers of these large loads sign an indemnity to the road authorites, so if there was any damage that was caused by the haulier then they would pay for it. There are exceptions though!

  • damage to roads and footpaths from the tractors driving on them..

  • Theres not much damage to the road surfaces apart from general road wear. What alot of people dont realise is that these types of heavy loads actulley cause less road wear than most fully laden standard trucks because these trucks have alot of axles that spread the weight much more. Most STGO loads have less weight per axle that the 44 tonners. The path here is concrete, if it was anything weaker then sand & steel plates would be layed down.

  • @scottstrike10 as rob says damage to anything we did we less than a standard 44 tonne truck taking the same path, axle loadings are far far less than a 44 tonner and also having 8 wheels per axle line spreadis it totally across the whole road surface and not just on 2 points where the tyres touch

  • @scottstrike10 in the us the state fixes the roads b/c we pay lots of money for permits .... and all trucks pay a road usage tax like 15k usd a yr ....so if you meet a truck and you think he is acting like he owns the road well they do atleast more of it than cars

  • think most people will agree that they dont half go over board with axles customer must have a hole in his wallet
