  • Probe/pylon

  • super epic camera shows incredibly slow motion lightning, yet footage can only be viewed in 240p....

  • @KronusIsPro It's available at higher than 240p, but not here, since the poster ripped this video off from the original photographer.

  • To all that want to watch a video, post a comment, but not read the info...read the info. It's quite interesting that I posted where I sourced this from. And it was well over 3 years ago.

  • @ceedubb72 I don't give a shit when you posted it. You're still citing wrong information and not crediting the photographer.

  • this was definitely shot faster than the exf1 is capable of, and much higher resolution. @mrgrummus is right, this vid was stolen.

  • My fav video ever!! XD

  • First of all, this is not your video and it was not shot with an EX-F1. This video was shot at 7,207 FPS, far beyond the capabilities of the EX-F1. The video was shot by Tom A. Warner, who, if you Google, has many other videos of the same caliber.

    You're just a thief and a liar.

  • @mrgrummus and @StormChaseDotTV

    Read the Description...

You're not figuring out anything new xD

  • @TheLejnd Uhh, the description does not cite the photographer or link to the photographer's site and it cites the wrong camera. I don't know what point you're trying to make.

  • how can people not like this? its just a slow mo, just like it idiots

  • Who likes these events, go to my channel (Lightning32RUS)

  • what if that was how lightening really happened.. we'd be fucked

  • What the hell is happening with the lightning in the end when looks like it is intermittent? Is plasma??? I read something about the temperature in this point is more high than the sun

  • @wengaiden Lightning is plasma and its like three times hotter than the sun

  • How many FPS?

  • wow just wow O_o

  • Lol as I'm watching this there are lightning outside, and as i'm writing this!

  • wow, amazing!

  • so what was the frame rate set at?

  • Está capturado con una velocidad de 7200 imágenes por segundo.

El primer canal en llegar estabiliza el rayo! increíble video

  • 0:01 replay best part

  • woooooww

en tiempo real cuanto dura ese video

    como 1 o 2 segundos!!

  • It's amazing what mother nature can do. Lightning is to me just a light show. Lightning is beautiful.

  • omg thats siick

    awesome!!!!!

  • I am quite sure that this footage doesn't come from the casio ex-f1. This format would be 300fps and that would look quite faster. I have filmed lightning myself with the ex-f1.

  • @SlaveZero1234 does it matter? the point is, this is fucking awsome. dont start bitching about the cam, enjoy the clip.

  • @wannabetyouarefat I am just saying... not that people buy the EX-F1 camera because of this clip and expect this kind of footage afterwards! :-)

  • And this all happens in less than one second?

  • want this camera soooo bad. only 600 more dollars to go ^^

  • I own the Casio EX-F1 since it came out and shot lightnings a few times in slow motion... the camera is wonderful and capable of great footage in the right hands but this video is not shot with the Casio, sorry.

  • Fps?

  • what? is this really real? and if it is, how many times slower than reality would this be? 1 second stretched to a friggin million seconds??

  • thats cool

  • o i c

  • lmao of course is not the casio XD

  • actually it is the Casio EX F1

    very good camera

    $1,000

  • absoluty not =>

    lightning strikes at 40,000km/sec,

40,000/300 = 133km in each 300th of a second, so in each image taken by the camera, i don't think there are thousands of kilometers between clouds and ground... don't you ?

    Even in 1200fps => 40,000/1200 = 33km/image... impossible too.

Another reason, this video size is the 300fps one, you can't see at night, even in 300fps

BTW, i've got that camera, and i didn't have lightnings to film yet but I'll try, and believe me that's NOT the casio

  • if you say so.

I was just going by the title anyway

I know nothing about the camera

  • are you nuts? .. watch my video.. watch?v=5DzqCtojzKs

....... by the way its 600fps

  • ok, urs was filmed with the casio, (iv'e got the camera and now i filmed a lot of lightning strikes..) check out my comment below with the calculation

  • check Ultraslo's video of 2000fps lightning, it's at least 10 times faster while the casio can only take 1200fps at it's best.. just think a litle...

  • there are video more slower +5000fps.... WE ARE TALKING ABOUT Casio!!

  • i used Ultraslo's video to compare, this is slower so that means it's NOT the casio, obviously !!!

  • now ok

  • lol ya it is

  • THAT IS FUCKING COOL.

  • This is not the EX-F1

  • <3 BEAUTIFUL <3

  • Wow that was amazing!

  • omg this is the best slowmotion video i've ever seen! so crazy! awesome!

  • OH MAN!

  • DUDE!

    that was awesome! :D

  • it also reminds me of videos demonstrating how neurons transmit electrical signals

  • It looks loike the earth just got split ito 2

  • zomg lightning looks like a cool fire cracker then a ripple in the sky

  • TOP QUALITY CAPTURE!!! Pay attention people... this is the type of video that made YouTube a fun place to surf for hours.... This is, until all the idiot bloggers with there stupid and usless opinions saturated Youtube with garbage videos, essentialy making it impossible to find the really excellent clips like this one. BLOG VIDEOS KILLED YOUTUBE'S COOL.

  • Err, dude, I think you just cotradicted yourself with your useless opinionated comment.

  • Take your bullshit elsewhere keyboard warrior.

  • Dont be so touchy dickhead. No one asked to hear your off topic rant about bloggers.

  • While he is being a dickhead, he does make a good point

  • that sounds like a really cool comic or something

    "Keyboard Warrior"

    catchy

  • coaieee :| ce aparat :X:X

en : oh yeeah , that's endeed a cool movie , i wonder how much is an camera that can do that 8->..

  • Is this 300 or 600 fps?

  • It looks like 1200 but it has to be 300 because any higher the resolution would be too low.

  • wow, very COOL!!!

  • cool!! terrific video!!! when the lightning strike first starts it looks like somethigs is exploding in the sky like a plane or something but then you can tell its lightning a second later.

  • that is SO cool

  • The mainarm of the lightning goes from the earth to the sky (bad english I know)... looks kinda sick :D

  • Amazing.

  • coolest video i've ever seen, its cool seeing it pulse with light

  • wow

  • The path of lowest resistance. ;)

  • I dunno, kinda looks like "first one to the ground is the winnar!"

  • Yes this is true.

The same kind of "rule" applies to birds on a wire, they don't get electrocuted since they are not touching the ground, if they were to however... zap.

  • Ooops, I meant this as a reply to the first stream to hit the ground creates the actual lightning bolt.

  • awesome!

  • awsome end ov

  • i saw this on "attack of the show"

  • me too

  • Wow! MAGNIFIQUE!!! GRANDIOSE!!! VRAIMENT COOL!!!

  • wicked

  • this camera must be incredible to be able to capture so many frames per second

  • you can see it making a bunch of paths, trying to find the best one to take. thats awesome!

  • by FAR the BEST fucking video i have EVER seen!!!!

  • thats gotta be the coolest fuckin thing ive ever seen. thanks

  • i use to play that game on atari

  • amazing!

  • that is freakin cool!

  • MAGNIFICENT

  • so freaking cool

  • hey, thanks for uploading this to youtube (obvio.). made it a ton easier to post to myspace.

  • I like how it's a race until one branch gets grounded, then it lights up the sky.

  • This is just awesome...

  • Niesamowite, zwłaszcza początek!

  • Simply amazing!
