  • i hope that my Playstation 4 or my XBOX 720 can handle this until 2014

  • ur using most of the things from stunt driver ignition like the one with 2 guys one girl, and the one with the director as actor.... i don't think ps2 used it though....

  • if the next consoles wont have this graphics at least .. consoles are 100% dead for me ! FOREVER ! PC FTW ! CRYSIS FTW ! FUCK CONSOLE FAGS!

  • Much Better than Image Metrics

  • acting sucks

  • @xy274 agreed

  • COOL

  • Isn't this Stuntman Ignition?

  • <<--@austinartwar I have some kick butt blender models to make tutorials for. See the models and vote up the ones that should have a tutorial. Or maybe subscribe so when I do get one you will know.

  • didn't they use this on that star wars game?

  • Needs more expression in the eyes, just sayin.

  • Where can we purchase this?

  • @Doreladge this is just a demo reel, but try visiting their web site @ studiopendulum dotcom

  • LIke the song in the background.

  • 0:16 oO

  • nice gfx, and a great tune you used, anyone that doest know its called Drunk As A Monk (Rabbit In The Moon's Brass Monkey Mix) by banco de Gaia

  • Coool

  • thats like what, 30 markers? compare this to Mova contour reality capture (look it up in youtube), see which one is more life like

mocapping a face using markers is kinda outdated once you've seen what Mova can do.

  • @rabbiteh mova suks

  • this looks really good. i always get ticked when the characters in games dont seem to move thier mouths along with the words right. this would help so much

  • 0:08 What game is that?

  • Isn't that clown from Stuntman: Ignition? So they're already using this tech in games, even low budget, low exposure games...Can't wait to see what someone like Hideo Kojima could do with this tech....

  • Probably nothing becouse he's just a scripter ,designer ;]

Japanese people as you can see in their movies ,anime, games etc got problem with facial expresions ;]

  • Hmm... the results still seem a little exaggerated and dead-eyed...

But that old guy at the end... WOW!

  • its 3d, of coures its fake. or did you thought it was real:)

  • Im telling you, If our next gen console doesnt get to this pologygon rate, Then our textures will, Frick if anything i have belief in this being the next console power, We're advancing faster than you think- I would love to see what it'd look like in 20 more years :3

  • > Im telling you, If our next gen console doesnt get to this

    > pologygon rate, Then our textures will, Frick if anything i have

    > belief in this being the next console power, We're advancing

    > faster than you think- I would love to see what it'd look like in 20

    > more years :3

It means that in 20 years time, if anybody wants to frame you for a crime, it will be easy to do - and the government certainly will be able to do it.

    Isn't it wonderful?

  • ha! totally freaking true!

the government could probably easily do that even now... just think, obama himself might be just a CGI character

  • ...because naturally it's impossible now?

  • > ...because naturally it's impossible now?

    No, no it's not.

  • Welcome to the sarcasm.

  • We could have this now if we wanted, the hardware is possible it's just no pratical (money wise)

  • @zuriku

    "polygon rate"?

  • @zuriku In 20 years, we better be sitting in pods and believing we are actually in a world, and not in our living rooms. :D Or whatever happens, I can't wait, just watching this is exiting enough.

  • @zuriku Why so much faith in consoles? PCs get the technologies first, just look at DirectX 11

  • @aaagreen Oh of course cpu gamers will always be ahead graphics wise, But what the console does is allow everyone without computer hardware/software knowledge play most current games, And that consoles only need to be designed as one high powered device to last 5+ years. Its nice for GameDevelopers to work with and for everyone to enjoy their creations. I guess thats why i will always love the home console.

  • @zuriku Not even a PC fanboy could argue with that.

  • @zuriku whats a CPU gamer?

  • @zuriku me too im not a pc gamer,pc crashs, and the up dates, and it slows down if you have lots of games on it, and the hackers and bugs you can get, off of other people hosting a game,pc gameing is like picking out of a landfill of problems...pc gameing sucks

  • @zuriku Im telling you man, the console interweb net speed is so advanced for the users. The CPU gamer is the level of graphic with the fricking power console! WE'RE ADVANCING like 20 years faster and the console textures are so big its pologygon rate next gen balls! POLOGYGON TEXTURE CONSOLE POWER!

Stop talking so much bullshit, get your head out your ass and learn the definitions of the terms you're throwing about. Otherwise you look like babbling retard with his dick hanging out. Pffft...

  • what are they goin to be used for? an animated movie? if you know please tell me

  • In the game i want CM to use this in the gameplay.

  • Video Game cinamatics, trailers, movies, and eventually game play.

  • no way its so realistic

i hope codemasters use it on ofp 2

  • nice work dude nice work..thanks for uploa

    d

  • what do u go on to make this stuff?

  • they should make porn with this technology but make all of the actors furniture and the couch would be all *hey what's up wink wink* and the loveseat would be all *blush* and the next thing u know it's all BOW CHICKA WAH WAHHHH.

  • Then still people need to have sex because they need to record it :P

  • hahahhAHHAHA! I totally agree, I laughed so much at the "BOW CHICKA WAH WAHHHH" XD

  • LOL!! Totally worth the purchase..

  • make a stone age or viking game out of the beginning of the movie looks good

  • watch?v=1UEOZGFzPas

  • lol the monkey was the best

  • excuse me but (real west and wilhite), what does existentialist pseudo intellectual crap have to do with 3D animation?

    Hey, I'm just asking....

  • 0:55 reminds me of frontlines wait it is go and get the frontlines fan pack and you can see a pic of the exact same soldier

  • a shame to see some critical comments are removed on the spot just because they are telling the truth ;)

  • this one is better-> watch?v=1UEOZGFzPas

  • The chances that we are currently nothing more than avatars, our intelligence and self-awareness nothing but simulations in a 3 Dimensional Holospace inside some quantum computer in the far future, that is simulating the past of our own kind is very high. We may evolve within this artificially simulated environment to replicate and simulate our own nested 3D environs, simulating our own past ad-infinitum. Makes you kind of think that bible-thumpers are kind of .. primitive and superstitious?

  • ...Pot calls the kettle black.

  • The chances are good that your meds are wearing off...

  • Um, if you choose to limit yourself through beliefs or choose to judge me for exploring my consciousness and speaking about it, that's your problem. The theory I actually mentioned has had several books written about it and actually been mentioned in Popular Science... (the idea that we are actually being simulated on a huge computer by our far-flung future descendants, that we are merely artificial intelligences playing out a 'reality-game' for the benefit of future anthropologists.. etc)

  • You can believe ANYTHING if you want, because if nothing requires proof, then anything is possible. Otherwise, if you want to know the truth of all that which exists around us, the STUFF that's truly SOMETHING, then review your scientific theory. It's not that hard, really. It just takes a bit of thinking.

  • And when you get there, to the point of real thinking, then you will have emerged from the Dark Ages, and you will join the Enlightenment. Right now, the Light is getting dim, people. If it goes out, we may as well go back to dark robes and chanting.

  • Wow, I am so glad to hear that SOMEone has gotten to the point of so-called 'REAL' thinking!

As Sri Syadasti said, "All systems are true in some sense, false in some sense, meaningless in some sense, true and false in some sense, true and meaningless in some sense, false and meaningless in some sense, and true and false and meaningless in some sense." A secret Illuminati teaching holds that if you repeat that 666 times, you will achieve Total Illumination, in some sense.

  • Oh, and the same goes for beliefs (as for systems)

To quote Robert Anton Wilson: "Belief is the death of intelligence. As soon as one believes a doctrine of any sort, or assumes certitude, one stops thinking about that aspect of existence."

In short: "If you think you know what the hell is going on, you're probably full of shit." - R.A.W.

    Happy hot-dog Friday! :D

  • ". . . there are periods of history when the visions of madmen and dope fiends are a better guide to reality than the common-sense interpretation of data available to the so-called normal mind. This is one such period, if you haven't noticed already." ..Robert Anton Wilson, recently... (r.i.p.)

  • "I don't believe anything I write or say. I regard belief as a form of brain damage, the death of intelligence, the fracture of creativity, the atrophy of imagination. I have opinions but no Belief System (B.S.)" ...R.A.W.

What other term is spoken of as B.S. ...anyone? anyone?

  • As soon as I start thinking I know something, some dern fool pushes the envelope a bit. And then I have to do some more thinking!

    Anyway...

    Hope you have good weekend!

  • Now you're talking! 'Cause you're making some REAL sense! As long as we're talking sensibly, we can have a REAL conversation. Anything else is NONsense!

  • Aren't some of these clips from Stuntman: Ignition?

  • perfect

  • THAT WAS SO FREAKY, BUT COOL

  • the game thing just was an example ;) the modern TV/Cinema productions are using some kind of a "game" engine to model the special effects as well

  • its just motion capturing ... nothing special imho ... would be nicer if it would be generated on the fly like ragdolls and collisions are giong in newer games ;)

  • Zombie patrol. Where's the animation?

  • Amazing animations.

  • Wow if they could use this for a videogame.. oh man it would be incredible.

  • Silent Hill Homecoming has this animation system.

  • with really great voice actors, this could be grrrrreat

  • SEND ME A POSTCARD, SCUMBAG >:O!

  • faces look great, bodies look clumsy like old man's body. texture and lighting realistic.

  • what? is that a game or somthing

  • "what? is that a game or somthing"

No, this is just a tech demo.

  • -.- are all users stupid in here this is not for any game or else!!!!!!!

no Pc could do that only special pc for modelling and animation and they cost a lot!! now the rich guys thing ohh great idea so i buy an animation pc for gaming but that is impossible the pc are workstation not for gaming use i hope everybody has get it in there heads!!!sorry for my bad english

  • Well, it is for cinematics...and who knows maybe in the future graphics will look like CGI now. =D

  • if it was a game it would be the best the world would ever see better than the oblivion game.

  • newsflash... not all 3D animation is for video games... thats to all the ppl asking what "game" this is for...

  • then whats its for,....the hell of it. if so then thats a waste of time.

  • no its not a video game.... but is a video showing their facial expression software.... kinda like that video showing the new unreal graphics engine... its a demo to show gaming companys their animation system so they can see how amazing it is and the game companys will use it for their games

  • bad voice acting lol. anyways looks like a great graphics engine :)

  • wow i hope this graphics engine is used in films in the next few years that would be ace

  • the games look great and all but they dont seem to be as good as the models infront of the gray screen

  • what games are they making

  • add me

  • Awesome.

  • well the exterior looks good but what about the interior of the enemies. say I wanna shoot one of those finely polished villains in the face will there be brain matter skull fragments the proper blood spray and a bullet wound..that would be impressive..

  • totally agree!! ^^ that would be awesome!

  • Its not a game.

  • damn . at 0:20 i thought that guy was real

  • LOL and that monkey at the end was HELLLA funny.

  • Okay it's like this the graphics look dope, the games' violence seems up to par, but seriously though they need to do something about that acting they said some of the corniest shiat that I have ever heard..."Send me a postcard." What the FUK, come on now I'm sure they could have got some decent writers for this game. But, I did like the "Something wicked this way comes." line I'm gonna use that when see somebody I don't fukin like lol.

  • dont u think they should be a device thing that u can actull make ur own words n sentenses

  • it's not a game.. it's a preview of the graphics engine :/

  • it's not a game it's not a preview of the graphics engine it's a preview of the animation capturing system.

  • nothing as fun as killing people with big guns in a game with mad graphics he he.. x-D. i myself never get tired of that he he. but its not a shame if they put in a good plot while there at it hehe. like call of duty 4. great game, great graphics, great guns great fun!! but it should be more gory and realistic violence, like in the good old soldier of fortune 2 he he. ^^

  • he he

  • the monkey should be the villain, not the fat guy :)

  • lol :)

  • Pretty amazing, too bad they're using this technology for the worn out violent war game theme again. Its as if game producers think that just because war games have done so well, they'll keep investing in war games rather than thinking of something more creative and imaginative than killing people. Who ever said that all game players want to do is kill all the time? Is this really what people would do if we weren't faced with real world consequences? Kill all the time? I dont buy that.

  • this is a demo you fuckwads below and above me dissing the video

  • Gay....!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • wow, hire some real actors... they acted so fake.

  • whata the programa..! hehe

  • Incredible stuff- So lifelike!

  • yea o.o

  • cool xD

  • What is "Alter Ego" exactly? I've never heard of it, but please, explain! :) It looks cool.

  • yeah they really have great skill in animation. Only thing that i noticed is the guy had a smile when wh was crying. Other than that amazing.

  • It's not animating, it's motion capture. Big difference.

  • there is a new technic today, they dont use motion capturing, they use an awesome physics engine

  • /edit

this videos are made with motion capuring, but there is a game "backbraker" wich uses a new technic

  • physics engine for facial animation? Why bother?

  • As videogames and CG movies become increasingly detailed, it's the little details that would potentially kill it. And if the characters in this clip were a little more humanly proportioned, you'd swear they were real, right?

  • Physics engine for body animation.. YES. For facial animation... only if the face would interactively be affected by external forces and the character would have to talk(for example) differently than before because of these... otherwise it is a big waste of cpu. As for a physics engine to move the body. They first use motion capture technology for animations like walking running etc. Then compute the forces which are fed into the physics engine as sequence of forces applied to the bones.

  • Because they can

  • Whats the difference?

  • the difference is if you want to interactively affect the face animation. I am not talking about blends between different mocaps but external forces. If you want realtime(like in games) another great difference is that a physics engine kills cpu resources that is why you need dual core for some games to play fine today.

  • Thanks.

  • just.....wow

  • Are you guys kidding me, its AMAZING and AWESOME. Everyones a critic." Umm, i think a wrinkle is off, the nose didnt flare correctly." GIMME A BREAK, just enjoy it.

  • Genial !

  • There's a lack of expression on the eyebrows, kind of makes the face look like it's acting too much, in my oppinion.

00:45, the guy who says "See you in hell.", considering the situation, he should look angry, to me, he's kind of idle looking.

  • nah the brows are fine. its the lips and tounge that seem off.

  • tongue***

  • Is this a game that is coming out or just a demo of what sort of skills they got?

  • Its not an engine its just standard CG, Pendulum are a studio that create game FMVs and its just a demo of their CG work.

  • Be great when we start seeing this engine in games and does anyone know the name of the game that was been shown the black guy sounds ace.

  • oh that would be a lot easier than actually animating lol

  • nice trailer - that is stuntman ignition?

  • If you want to see something better, watch "doll face" video. Best face animation engine ever. Anyways, this is pretty awesome.

  • I was under the impression that 'Doll Face' relied more on video manips rather then direct facial animation.

Besides, that video is a short flick, this here is just a tech demo :)

  • Fantastic...I am looking forward to playing video games that use this new facial-animation feature.

  • The old man is scary as shit.

  • the animation give me that source engine feeling, but this look way better and clean

  • COOL

  • the old guy looks like Anthony Hopkins

  • tha old guy is the best

  • Is this a game or an engine being used in future releases? I thought I saw something from GRAW.

  • its already being used... thats why most game animation looks so realistic cuz they use this already...

  • In 5 years this will be a crap!

  • True, If you look back 5 years how it was :D

  • Well, hopefully it will, acertm!

  • yeah, but right now its fucking awesome

  • Yep that's true. But if you want to see something better, watch "doll face" video. Best face animation engine ever

  • Its not an animation engine. Its a live action actor on a green screen and post production 3d modeling.

  • I don't think so. It's just plain computer graphics.

  • Next thing you know we won't be needing real actors for movies anymore

  • ooh whats .10?

  • are these like different games and stuff or what?

    nice video =]

  • actual most of the trailer is cut scenes from Stuntman: Ignition

  • I still like Metal Gear 4 better... But this is cool, anyway...

  • damn i love this, i would love to try that out one day. I wish i could is so interesting and amazing how easily you can animate unlike years ago and still to this day some people just go over every single frame which that takes way too much time instead of this which is so fast and better.

  • Half life 2s facial animation is better. and older. also.. why did they attempt to make a 3d model of Anthony Hopkins? lol anyone else notice.

  • Its almost better then life lol

  • damn that's easily the best facial animation I've seen so far

  • i fear one day we will not be able to distinguish illusions from reality. and this is .. just wow.

  • Why do you fear??

  • Something wicked this way comes was an old childrens movie about a travelling carnival that used dark magic

  • based on a Ray Bradbury book of the same title which is a quote taken from the Shakespeare play Macbeth

  • literary pwnage?
