Too bad Shout Factory wasn't able include these commericals on their DVD release of the Sunbow series, the most we got were a few quick scenes during one of the making of documentaries.
Best shot ever seen by the Hovercraft, or WHALE, was when Roadblock and the one guy who piloted the SHARK had to down a Rattler, Roadblock picked up the broken turret, angled it with his back and barked "you've got elevation, shoot!" and downed the plane. Classic fight.
So am I the only one who noticed the complete ridiculousness of this commercial? The Cobra planes were wiping out the GI Joe tanks and yet Duke calls in hovercrafts to bail their asses out? How is a hovercraft any better than a tank in this situation? Are the Cobra planes and Destro afraid of hovercrafts or something? Because the way I see it tanks would have more protection and more firepower than a hovercraft. The writers for the show and comics are mentally retarded. It all makes sense now.
Hahaha, the first and best comic book to inspire an ass-kicking toyline! <3 The show didn't come out more than week-long miniseries for like 3 years after the toys.
Oh yeah! By far you are correct, sir! The second & third episodes of the first miniseries were some of the best of the entire show. When Duke took on that giant mongoloid Injun brainwashed by Cobra Commander. I got those episodes on DVD. The first DVD release is friggin' sweet! Technically you get the first two seasons of GI Joe (both miniseries) and part of the third which introduced the first regular season. Of the regular show, only episodes like the Viper is Coming rock & season miniseries.
its pretty brilliant cross marketing..a tv show promoting a toy line promoting a comic book

@Mysterwright The 2 miniseries that preceded the actual series was better than the actual series itself.

Yeah, it wound up being Wild Weasel and the Baroness who bailed out the Commander in that issue.

Funny thing, from that comic book issue, I seem to recall what Zartan does is RUNS AWAY! Next time, Cobra Commander, call someone who can help you.

@scockery Ha! Maybe that's why Destro asks, "What can HE do?!?"
