Went to see this at Drury Lane. When the 1st number started I thought to myself "I'm going to love every second of this" and I was right. It was one of the most joyous events of my life. I adore tap dance routines and the male lead had the sexiest voice I've ever heard.
Do you have the other numbers they did on Royal Variety that year - I vaguely remember that as the show was in the 42nd Street theatre they did numbers throughout - it was the Audition and Lullaby of Broadway - obviously was very young when this was on although I did go and see the whole show with my folks. Fabulous show and cast!
I worked on this show (Both 42nd St and the Royal) I was in the flys. It's me who was pulling the ropes to bring in the white cloth at the end !!!!! Memories :-)

I'd only just joined the company when we did that performance. Give her my best. Tell her I joined from New Zealand...she should remember who I am

No, this was before Catherine joined the company

This was the second time that 42ND STREET was on the Command Performance. The first Billy Lawler was much better.
