I can really understand that people don't like this movie because it's not really Godzilla but try not to think of it as a "Godzilla" movie, just think of it as a monster movie. Sure, it may not be Godzilla but this is the kind of movie to watch just for fun. This is the kind of movie to watch for fun. The Amercian Godzilla was the only Godzilla that I've ever known. I didn't know that there are other Godzilla movies and this ain't Godzilla but this is a good movie.

@BlueTheArcticFox The fans were waiting for it years before it came out. All they got was zilla, and they waited for 12 years afterwards for news of another godzilla movie in america which is being made right now, and will be a lot more like the japan godzilla.

I really don't care how much Toho fanboys whine...I love the original Godzilla, but I also love the re-imagined Godzilla. Yes, he's still Godzilla- just a re-imagined version OF him. This movie deserved a sequel more than the vast majority of movies that get them. Godzilla Jr (from the egg at the end of this) is a regular bad-ass, and would have made for an amazing sequel.

@wipeoutx2 I think it had something to do with hydrogen. He was hit by an H-bomb, and can breathe hydrogen, which is highly flammible. The wind from his roar caused the cars to go into the air, and a small spark instantly ignited it.

Tbh, I Prefer this Godzilla rather than the Japanese version, This version is more realistic, because we dont exactly know what effect nuclear radiation would have on something like a komodo dragon. x]

@MorphingTiger I agree. This one is far better, because I sympathize with it. It's not a monster just there to destroy, like the japanese version. This one is just a animal trying to survive. I prefer this one. I felt really bad for it when it saw it's babies dead and even more when it died. I hope they make another movie involving this Godzilla.

Godzilla returns to America in the American Reboot by Legendary Pictures in 2012 or 2013... So we are getting another Godzilla movie, only this time it will be the real Godzilla in CGI an surpass this film.. So anyone who likes this film will LOVE the American Reboot

@turmienator ummm all zillas are male... in the 98 movie his dna comfirmed he was male.. in godzilla the series he was male... in final wars he was male.. all male godzillas have the huge spikes on their back because the concept art for a female zilla had really little spikes on her back so every zilla shown so far is male... and their species is asexual it dont matter if they male or female both sex's can lay eggs with their species!!

@boito9 i saw just 3 Zilla movies, one of them is the american version (sorry JapZilla fans, but for me the american version is the best!!! no offence...), and from what i remember in the movie they've said that Zilla was asexual wich means that it doesn't need another individual for reproduction, so it is wright to say that Zilla is female, since she had already fecunded eggs in her... at least i dont remember them (movie characters) to call the moster as "he"....

@boito9 yes, Zilla is a mutated iguana, which is an amphibian, a primitive class which has genders, but most of amphibians species have the ability to change their gender if in the group there are only one gender individuals, (their biology is simple enough that only the change of hormons can make this radical change... ) but as it is said "sometimes simple is the best" which means that Zilla could evolved back to the primitive way of reproduction... IMHO i may be wrong too... :)

@pteronoid this is one brilliant guy here, iguanas are actually amphibians. Do you know much of a tard you sound like now? Its a reptile, and no there biology isnt simpler than us, in many ways its more complex. Why i everyone acting like even half of this movie is based on realityuclear test would obliterate an iguana, not mutate it, and it couldnt grow to that size on land, it wouldnt support its own wieght.
