  • Easy, Leo is one of the best actors. I love Leo and his acting. So I'll just pay to see both movies or just sneak into one of them. X-)

  • chose the wrong actors again...god.. cmon leo as jay gatsby..wtf. man

  • I'm stoked about it, I hope the novel is done some justice this time around, the previous versions weren't so great, but then again the novel was never intended to be a film so the quality of an adaptation can vary depending what the director and actors do with it. Anyways I cant wait until Christmas.

  • It's only a question of which to see first. I love twice the DiCaprio this next winter...although it is unfortunate for both his movies to be released on the same day. Either way both have my money.

  • I've just seen Leo in J. Edgar. Brilliant. There seems to be no role this guy can't pull off, and make you forget who it is you're actually watching too, not many actors out there can do that. So this silly woman doesn't know what she's talking about, has she even seen the film?

As for what I'll watch, both, of course, who cares which one you see first, they'll both be memorable, I'm sure!

  • I just wish that the Academy get their head out of their asses and give some respect to Leo next year , they give away Oscars for Eminem and Jean Dujardin and forget about this great actor

  • Too many foreigners in the Great Gatsby, Lols jk

  • a mvoie like djanog dosnt have a chance at they oscars or does it

  • django unchained

  • gatsby duh then Django unchained straight after...

  • Leo as Jay Gatsby. Perfection.

  • fucking stupid annoying woman, you have an annoying accent and i dont see why ppl are laughing over j. edgar, when brad was doing benjamin butto that was some corny wak shit but it got all hyped up!

  • Both excited for these. The Great Gatsby is most likely to be Baz Luhman's first non-polarising film since Strictly Ballroom (for example, people will view Romeo + Juliet as a modernisation or a the Shakespere play adapted into a new dark and brutal atmosphere. People either view Australia as a tribute to Hollywood classics or an unoriginal epical film) but I'm most excited for the cast as well (Leonardo, Isla Fisher, Joel Edgerton and Carey Mulligan).

  • Great Gatsby should be released first.

  • the great gatsby

  • Great gatsby cause I read the book

  • I greatly enjoyed The Great Gatsby novel, though it was depressing at the end. So my money is going towards seeing it in theaters. I'm hoping it will follow the book well, though I'm not expecting it to.

  • great gatsby

  • You know...it is possible to see two movies in one day. Just sayin.

  • The Great Gatsby is a better story but Tarantino is a better director. Though Im seeing both so I dont quite care

  • Great Gatsby, all the way. It's such an awesome story and, depending on how each of the actors portray their roles, it can really do wonders for the actor's career. Especially because it's an American classic and it's been remade several times. It can get a lot of good feedback if they do a good job, which I expect them to. (just look at the cast!)

I loved the book and I really want to see how the movie turns out.

  • The Great Gatsby. Forever. Not even....you don't even have to ask me that. xD I am so going to the motherfucking Great Gatsby. Django can wait until I have had my fill.

  • hmm django unchained has foxx, waltz, Jackson, gordon-levitt... gee i wonder which one ill see

  • I've read the book and i love it and i honestly don't find Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby its just that he is a bit too old for the role though i love him .

I see Jay as Paul Wesley <3

  • THE GREAT GATSBY!

  • Django for sure. I'd never pass up seeing a Tarantino movie and Gatsby looks like a pointless remake with pointless 3D.

  • Well, It`s just a pleasure to watch them both... <3

  • Great Gatsby

  • gatsby

  • I sooooo want to seem him pull off a sadistic slave owner!!! I read and loved The Great Gatsby, don't get me wrong. But to see him playing the other part? It'll challenge him, in the least, I bet!!

  • what kind of movie is the Great Gatsby? gangster/mob?

  • that photo of leo from the great gatsby looks really beautiful. i think he will do well with this role

  • The Great Gatsby!

  • I'd love to see the great gatsby first!!!

  • Both Dicaprio is in them........duh!

  • I don't know, man. The Great Gatsby looks like its gonna be a classic but I'll go with Django. I mean Leo playing a villain in a Tarantino movie!! Something tells me Leo is gonna steal the show with an off the wall performance in that one...

  • GATSBY

  • Psyched about both!

  • Django all the way.

Leo is awesome, Quentin is god.

  • so what, we can only see one movie that day?

psh, im going for the Great Gatsby

  • Django Unchained!

  • Look their is no way the guy who directed leo's romeo and juliet can do justice to f. scott fitzgerald's phenomenal text in the great gatsby, no one has yet o do they focus to much time on cinematography and actors trying to win Oscars. if you want the great gatsby read the book. You can obviously tell that i will be seeing Django unchained this upcoming Christmas because i know for a fact the writing and atmosphere will pull me in after it's tarintino.

  • Django the script is amazing

  • Quentin Tarantino > F. Scott Fitzgerald

  • or they can watch bothh

  • no brainer for me! definitely Django Unchained!

  • I'll watch both but Django's up first.

  • Django really want leo to win a oscar one day really put all that hard work into the roles and try unlike alot of actors now a days.

  • Gatsby is just about rich people being rich and running people over. Tarantino flick all the way.

  • unchained, tarantino rarley disapoints, while the film adaptation of fitzgerald's novel mostlikly will

  • I don't think it will hurt the Oscar chances of either film, however if I went to the movies on Christmas (which I probably would never do) I would see Django, I have already read the book The Great Gatsby.

  • The Great Gatsby is in 3D. What could possibly come out of the screen in The Great Gatsby? I don't wanna know.

    DJANGO!

  • Tarantino directing Leo = Tarantino brining out the best of Leo, like he does with every actor also= Leo getting an Oscar...

  • Wouldn't this be a win win?? I mean for me it is.lol. Leo is my favorite actor, so If they open on the same day..guess who is watching 2 movies that day??

  • A Tarantino film vs The guy who did Romeo + Juliet?..

    Yeah. I'm seeing Django Unchained.

  • @Thiefylord romeo and juliet is sick tarantino is sick!... but deathproof was boring as fuck!

  • @Thiefylord "The guy who did Romeo + Juliet" is in Django Unchained.

  • Django Unchained because its not his typical role and as a DiCaprio fan im very curious

  • Tarantino >

  • gatsby, hands down

  • WHAT? why is everyone on The Great Gatsby Side I mean there is only one clear winner Django Unchained after all this is quentin tarantino where talking about. The man who made Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2, Resivour Dogs and many more and im sure DiCaprio will also do well as always. Each to there own but to me there is a clear winner Django Unchained.

  • DJANGO UNCHAINED < The Great Gatsby

  • It's a tough choice. Django also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and is directed by Tarantino. I'll watch both on the same day.

  • Can you opt for no DiCaprio?

I am seriously so tired of his cherubic face. He's an ok actor, but just not interesting enough to make me excited about anything unless the movie itself gets good buzz (e.g. Inception)

  • @MariaVosa My classmates called him a god...I don't believe that...

  • So much Gatsby

  • Django Unchained

  • QUENTIN TARANTINO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE WILL BE BLOOD AND BRICKS WILL BE SHAT.

  • django

  • This reminds me of last week when I saw in a theater a trailer for Man on a Ledge with Sam Worthington then Wrath of the Titans with Sam Worthington. Ex Con on a ledge then fighting Titans in a minute.

  • I am very selective of what I go see in the theatre...if the trailer doesnt snag me then I wait till dvd.

  • fail

  • FUCK DECAPRIO NEITHER!!!!

  • Django Unchained is just another blaxploitation film

  • I cannot wait for Gatsby. My family always want to go to a movie every Christmas Day after presents and dinner and church and stuff, and the book was great.

  • Is it me or does the BTT theme song sound like spyro's theme song?

  • i don't want so much dicaprio but both films sound EPIC so... at least will definitely watch gatsby (i mean COMON BAZ LUHRMANN). django, we'll have to see (with the reviews)

  • how the shit could anyone not go with Django? Its QUENTIN TARANTINO

  • both!

  • I've seen Gatsby and I've heard the premise for Django Unchained. Well I'm curious how Tarantino goes about this. I also want to see how Baz Luhrmann does Gatsby. and as for leo i think it's time we gave him a break. I think that Gatsby will be moved up to an earlier date.

  • Sorry Gatsby, gotta go with Quint!!

  • Tarantino is rather meh in my book. I dunno who they have directing the Great Gatsby (haven't bothered to imdb it yet), but I did like the book and I do liek Leo so I'm probably gunna give that a look before the Tarantino flick.

  • Django Unchained!

  • Quentin won't move. If anyone will move it will be the Great Gatsby

  • Tarantino that is all

  • Django unchained

  • That's a tough choice...how will I ever choose between two Leo's....?

  • The Great Gatsby? lol

  • Django Unchained!,The Great Gatsby i am not sure if it gets good reviews then i going to see it

  • What!? DiCaprio has to get one of those moved. Having two movies release on the same day during a holiday season is janky as fuck.

  • Tarantino. No question. The biggest attraction here is not DiCaprio :P

  • Django Unchained. I gave up on Baz Luhrmann a long time ago. And why is The Great Gatsby in 3D?

  • If it doesn't get horrible reviews, I'm going to see The Great Gatsby.

  • It's gonna be a bloody Christmas.

  • Django Unchained!!

  • Can we have a trailer run grace? :)

  • He always does that lol.

  • Django Unchained is the obvious choice.

  • Thumbs up if you already read the Django Unchained leaked script.

  • isn't Vincent Chase the lead role in The Great Gatsby???

  • Django Unchained of course.

  • when are we going to get married , grace ? =)

  • Gatsby Classics

  • Gatsby for sure

  • Gatsby all the way.

  • Gatsby

  • Tarantino and DiCaprio...yeah I'm there

  • Gatsby!!!!

  • once again, even if he very good in those movies , which I am sure he is going to be, noone would remember him by the end of the year when award season starts(((

  • Tarantino.

  • sadistic slave owner it is

  • Django unchained

  • Comment removed

  • I'm surprised you didn't mention the infamous DiCaprio double-booking of 2002 with "Gangs of New York" and "Catch Me If You Can"

  • Grace you're a movie junkie :)

  • Django obviously

  • django unchained

  • I'm gonna see both but if I had to choose wich one first Django Unchained will be my choice.

  • Great Gatsby FTW

  • I'm a movie whore so I being seeing both but I am more excited for the Tarantino but I did live the book do I am excited for the remake!

  • Sadistic slave owner Leo Plz :P Tarantino FTW.

  • Two actors the Academy seems to hate is Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. I doubt Leo will get an Oscar for any of his performances.

  • Django Unchained!!! Tarantino hasen't let us down yet!!!

  • Django all the way mainly because it will be really diffrent seeing Dicaprio play a viallain for once. It's nice to see that he is taking risks and is playing a role like this. I cannot wait to see what he does with his role in Django Unchained.

  • well, ever since last year when the academy snubbed him, his goal has beento win an oscar. hell keep on starring in these movoes until he has that gold statue in his hand! so yeah. INCEPTION MAMAMAMAMAMAMAM

  • Gatsby hototototototot!!

  • How is this even up for debate? This comes down to who's the better Director, and subject matter. No contest, Tarantino wins this duel hands down. (Django Unchained)!

All Baz did was just give every sixth grader in America another reason not to read the book, and pick up Cliffsnotes.

  • Django Unchained!!!!

  • Django Unchained! Besides from Romeo + Juliet I have never really like any of Baz Luherman's films, so it is Tarantino all the way for me.

  • Will be planning to see neither

  • While I think Leo will make a great Gatsby, I'm not sure if Baz can pull of the film as a whole...let's wait and see i guess.

  • Best t-shirt

  • Gatsby

  • Gatsby

  • The Great Gatsby.

It's a good book so why not. And I'm not a big Tarantino fan.

  • Leo was awesome as J Edgar

  • Django Unchained

  • Django Unchained seems like it will have more action, so I'll probably go see that one first.

  • Django Unchained because it will be the first tartan movie I see in theaters than the great Gatsby. PROBABLY ON THE SAME DAY

  • I think the assumption here is that people go to see a movie solely on the lead actor. While that is obviously an important consideration, if the actor was actually the sole reason to watch the movie (and there was no one behind the scenes), then you wouldn't go see it, least you be subjected to some kind of vanity project like Battlefield Earth.

  • Gatsby but on the Day after Xmas.

Xmas is for the family not hollywood (well except for Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, The Grinch who stole Christmas, Polar Express, etc. etc.)

  • I think they should separate the dates by a week or two so people can enjoy both his films and Leo can pull a Ryan Gosling and star in not one, but two Oscar contenders! :D PS Grace Don't listen to these haters I love your show and respect your opinions! As a matter of fact I agree with you this time! Take care Grace! -3

  • Why re people laughing about Edgar I didn't see it but still why

  • @jarrenskater The makeup on DiCaprio to look like old J Edgar looked pretty silly.

  • I think its okay to have them come out at the same time, i mean look at Liam Neeson he has a new movie coming out every other day.

  • give it a month. one of the studio will move their film up by a week

  • I think he'll be great & things should just stay the way they are

  • Like hell I would go to the cinema on Christmas. But I'm more excited for Great Gatsby

  • Django first!

  • In Tarantino I trust.

  • @JesusFingeredBabies yeah those movies will be horrible its not like the great gatsby is being based off a literary classic and django unchained isn't being written and directed by by one of the greatest directors of our time. So your right those movies will suck

  • Tarantino all the way. HAIL QUENTIN!!!

  • starting out the year with some movie byte... not bad :)

  • OMGOSH! Great Gatsby for sure! :D haha I love the book XD

  • DiCaprio as a slave owner?! Surely you jest!

  • Great Gatsby, for sure

  • definitely gonna see gatsby

  • i will go to the theatre and watch both of them back to back because they both look to be amazing films. you don't choose between DiCaprio films, you watch them all

  • I read the great gatsby and watched the original film. The book is better.

  • Two Leo films? lol I will watch both easily

  • Its dicaprio its gonna be two things really good or really bad or j. Edgar

  • Django is definitely on the top of my list. I'm not a huge DiCaprio fan, but I am a huge Tarantino fan.

  • DiCaprio Double Feature, hell yeah!

  • Ill have a double feature i dont care lol

  • Two Leonardo Dicaprio's films in one day I'm game

  • Django first

  • BOTH

  • Both.

  • I'm gonna go with Django Unchained

  • the original version of the great gatsby was depressing and soap opera-y enough as it is. why the hell are the movie makers remaking such a depressing and soap opera-y movie. and another thing! WHY ARE THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE MOVIES RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS FOR NEW FILMS?! I used to go to the movies to see all of the new movies that came out. now they are just remaking old movies, and a lot of the remakes are TOTAL CRAP! the only movies that im ever really excited about anymore are the Hunger Games. -.-

  • I'll see both opening day.

  • I think we can trust Leo with his own career choices. He's had a few missteps but overall has been a shining star in the gutter that is the hollywood A-list. As for the release dates I think that, while I have faith in both Mr. DiCaprio and the respective directors, it wouldn't be wise to have the movies open on the same day as it may be hard for audiences to see a sadistic slave owner in one movie trying to be a benevolent philanthropist in the next or vice versa. Just my thoughts!

  • I swear 3 years ago in my English class I called DiCaprio for Gatsby and Tobey for Nick

  • Ehh, I really love The Great Gatsby, so that will be my priority. Doesn't mean I won't see Django. I just probably won't see it till much later in its run.
