I was under the impression suicide doors were the ones on bentleys and rolls royce's. i.e they move from front to back rather than from the back to the front like normal cars...

Lamborghini doors tend to open "up" not sure what they are called though...

Suicide doors open into traffic, or back towards traffic. I just googled why, and really i think its a mix of things, such as the passenger is effectively hidden from traffic as they step out, and if the door gets hit then it will swing back and hit the occupant, rather than being ripped off on a forward opening door... something also to do with wind catching the door as you drive and opening it up...

I read on yahoo answers that "coach doors" is the more favourable term...

@MON383 shelby actually did not design the car itself he never liked it but he was heavilly involved in the development of the car.(chassis and drivetrain) he was brought in to make it as light and fast as possible. due to his wealth of kowledge designing cars.

most of the viper design team wanted a more radical redesign of the la truck engine as they did not think it would suit the car as well as it could.mainly they wanted to make it a four valve ohc head not 2valve push rod to increase rpm

and therefore increase useable power but chrysler were worried about costs and cheaped out and it never happened. i think shelby also used a pre-production model to open the indy 500 to show it to the public but i may be wrong? but were gettig kinda off course here though we were talking about lambo werent we. they are now owned by V.A.G (still makes me smile when i see it) who have made them more reliable and predictable while retaining the raw look

I won't play color cards here but Versatile built a production tractor in the late 70s early 80s wth 400 drawbar hp the 1150/1156 named after the size of the cummins engine that powered it. There will always be the race and the argument. Somebody has to be at the top of the mountain and everyone is trying to be the one. Makes it great for those who appreciate these machines and what they do.

Anyway, even today's biggest tractors are way too small to effectively handle the demands of today's and tomorrow's biggest farms and ranches. We need to build far, far bigger tractors and implements for today's and tomorow's biggest farms and ranches.
