I've one question : what Phil say to Hercules just after He win vs the hydra ? When he is on his rock, he said : "You do that kid ..." and next I don't understand what he said :/ please help me =D
If you notice Disney always uses Scar in other movies like the lion Hercules fights. In beauty and the beast Scar is in the part where their singing for Gaston. Lol.
You know what I just realized...if the planets don't align until 18 years pass since Hercules was a baby...then he was 17 when he became rich. I always thought he was in his 20's or some shit...but this whole time he was a teenager XD
also (sorry that they're 3 separate ones), im pretty sure there would be extremely angry at all the beasts hades is sending to hurcules and that hurc is killing them. like ares for example. his sacred animal is the wild boar. and what is it that hades sent to hurcules at 7:04 and that hurclues barbecued up (7:12)? looks like a wild boar to me... the gods tend to look down upon killing their sacred animals... *shrugs* just saying...
ok... i've never been able to understand what phil said. what were the 2 words phil said when hurcules said "p-p-p-p-phil? what do you call that thing?" and phil said "2 words" then i never understood what he said after that... anybody know?
@mogckdanp wtf does u being a christian gotta do with greek myth?is it becuz ur dumbass god hates other god?or are u just plain stupid for thinking god is real?
Man, that thing used to freak me out so much. The way it slithered and how it's jaw seemed sway when it first roared. Like it was made of silly putty instead of muscles a bone.
i miss the old disney movie (like this one). but seriusly who doesn't know that if you cut of a hyra's head it grows dubble the heads! you have to aim for the heart.
What? Since when? The Romans rose in the wake of the failing Greek states. And modern day Italy and Greece are a fair distance apart. When the Romans expanded to where Greece formerly existed, they were impressed with the remnants of what they found and assimilated many aspects of the Greeks into their own culture.
The sort of meshed together some cultural bits, but they were completely separate.
I can't look at this movie the same way after playing God of War 3. Every time I see the gods I'm like "I've killed you and you and you and oh I don't want to remember what happened to you."
@Eziofan1231 I'm guessing the Hydra was too difficult to animate in 2D, so they used CGI. Which is kind of a pity, because the Hydra looks really out of place in the movie.
first time i watched as a kid i thought shortest most worst fight ever...............till it grew more heads........then i was hideing behind my blanket
The Hydra shown here is not very accurate compared to the one in the actual mythology. According to the original myth, the hydra had ONE main, indestructable head and a mane of smaller heads (THESE were the ones when cut off, two would take its place). What made it even more dangerous, it exhaled poison gas, so when Hercules battled it in the original myth, he had to hold his breath, and after he cut off each of the secondary heads, a torch was used to burn where the heads were cut off...
hahaha Hercules actually thought him hitting the wall caused the vibration, what disney didnt want you to know was that it was actually Kratos from atop the cliff who simply spit on the ground (;
The one thing I don't like about the movie, the Hydra is originally supposed to have 9 heads, and 2 grow back when one is cut off. In this movie, the Hydra has originally 1 head, and three grow back o.O what the hell? I do like it however, when he's on Pegasus and then he has like, 20 to kill
@Zoujen It's the original legend. Originally, the Hyrda is supposed to have 9 heads, then when one is chopped off, two grow back in it's place, therefore, when a head is cut off, the neck is supposed to be burned closed. That's also the original way Hercules killed Hydra.
alright why in the hell would he send the Hydra, which seems to be much more badass than everything else in his arsenal, and then send the bullshit pig, fish, crowbird-man thingy and all the other crap AFTERWARDS? thats like dropping a nuke, and when that doesnt work you start shooting with a 9 mm.
In the twelve tasks set by Hera, the Hydra was actually just the second one. All the creatures shown here appear in the original twelve tasks, though I'm quite sure Hercules never fought a Medusa-like being. Actually, the Hydra wasn't considered that big a threat in the myth. It was the final task that was the most dangerous: capturing Cerberus. Wished they'd included that in the movie because Disney Cerberus still scares the daylight out of me :)
@commodoremikel How does that work in this context; Hercules faces a monster and it's 'standing room only'?
You'd think it would mean that you'd want to be out of the way for when he starts to tear the thing apart; the amount of space you have available to you probably wouldn't be particularly relevant in that scenario...
