  • nice

  • I can't stand these animation recreations, at all, but this one is WELL done! The only thing I hope to see in the future is the inability to tell its an animation.

  • Does that airport scenery come with the package?

  • @labelars no. This scenery was made exclusively for the video, unfortunately.

  • Hands down the most beautiful plane ever built!

  • This aircraft model is one of the best I have bought hands down. interior and exterior is superior, texturing and modeling is simply beautiful. props to the artists that built this bird.

  • WOW,this looks so real!!

  • Dlaczego kiedy otworzę przepustnicę na maksimum w tym samolocie to samolot mi gaśnie i niema możliwości ponownego uruchomienia ? ? ?

  • I wish Jim Wright were alive today to see this great animation! It would make him very proud - as he was the last man to fly the H1 Racer. RIP Jim.

  • I really would love to travel to the Smithsonian to see this thing....

  • @TheReaganfan Yeah it's a bummer he had 2 go, he's got his airplane with him in heaven

  • About the only thing wrong with this simulation is the launch, when it takes off the roll is short before the tail begins flying first. The rest of the takeoff roll is mains only with the tail flying. The airplane is very light and powerful.

  • Why wouldn't the tail come up quickly? This is normal on most taildraggers due to the stream of air coming off of the propeller.

  • That was my point. In this video, the airplane is launching and the tail is still on the ground. You misread or misunderstood my post.

  • Unfortunately, this is a problem that plagues most developers in FS. Only one company I know of has found a way around this. It has to do moreso with the way the developers made FS and less what addon developers have done with their addons.

  • many aircraft especially race aircraft would prefer takeoff with tail on the ground to attain more directional control or depenting on winds too. Rarebear only takes off and lands 3 point due to its massive propeller.

  • amed, that's all well and good. But the fact is with this actual airplane, the tail flew before the airplane rotated and flew off the ground. It did not drag the tail except for ground taxi and after landing. The engine and cowl were so long it was very hard to see clearly around or over it, so like many taildraggers, this airplane had to be fishtailed from left to right to see more clearly.

  • well you are right. if you see all the videos on it. it did have the tail raised by the time it rotated. i was just saying what i said to patch the unrealism LOL!

  • It will never be patched. As I said, this is a problem with the way FS handles taildraggers. Only a handful of companies (2 that I am aware of) are capable of doing this, sadly.

  • you didnt understand me. I meant thinking of racers today usually take off with the tail on the ground would be a MENTAL patch is what i was referring too. no prob

  • Wrong, Rare Bear launches and lands with the tail flying, it's just not horizontal to the ground because of the propeller swath. But it is flying.

  • aerosoft rocks, i got the F 16, it's simply awsome

  • Wonderful video for a wonderful aircraft. You are definitely one of my idols when it comes to flight sim video making.

I never managed to start the H-1 engine manually, despite following the checklist. :(

  • Is that scenery with that aircraft package or where it can be downloaded?

  • The scenery was hand made for this video.

  • In my opinion aerosoft should've made two different planes. One for the speed record and one for the transcontinental record. According to an article from popular mechanics from 1937 the only thing that remained the same on the H-1 from the initial flight was the fuselage.

  • Both the long and short wing versions were modeled. Check out the website bud. I'm not saying this is for you, but I think that you will find a significant amount of research was put into the model.

  • I thought the h-1 had an open cockpit during its first flight.

  • I don't think it did, but I am always willing to be wrong! :D

I know they open the cockpit for taxiing, etc however.

  • I know the cockpit was covered for the transcontinental flight and the color of the h-1 was not silver and blue for the speed record.

  • There has been some debate as to the color of the wings during different periods. Some claim that it was red (Time Magazine), however according to Aerosoft they could find no evidence that indeed the wings were red at the time.

Regardless, Aerosoft when they updated the product included red wings for those that want them.

  • are the red wings smaller than the blue wings?

Did they also include a different set of wheels? since the ones used for the transcontinental record had wider tread and were further apart.

Also, did aerosoft include a retractable tail skid?

  • The wing color was indicative of the long-span wings or the short-span wings.

  • Sorry my english is very bad...but I have a question....why when I open throttle on max..engine stop and I cant start it ??

  • Absolutely DELICIOUS.

PLEASE! Please do this with the HERCULES Flying Boat! That would be fascinating!

  • Looking through the comment's it looks like you will likely read what i write so i'll give go my oppinion.

    ABSOLOUTLEY SPIFFING OLD CHAP !!!

I'm Sure Hughs himself would be proud of it! (and so would Biggles and Algy And any other fictional aviator characters with good hats)

Keep up the good work these videos are a joy to watch!! And looks like a great add on to Good Show Aerosoft!

    Briliant 5 STARS!!!

  • Many thanks! So glad you liked it. The plane takes the showcase however, I just had to film it. You can thank the fine guys at Aerosoft!

  • Have YOU made this video? i saw it some other places on the internett :P

  • Yes, this is our video :D

  • Yes, this is that plane ;)

  • How did you get the people in the game??? or is it just video editing?

  • Wow. Cool video. I finally now seem to understand how some parts of the airplane work.

  • pleace tell me how to do this view 1:16 i am not talking about the people, but how you can see it from there, not the tower....or watever

  • I know its EZWalk, but when i use it i can oly move around while in VC... please tell me....

  • Just some creative use of the world walk feature of EZWalk. You just gotta experiment with it a bit friend.

  • hey, nice video.

I have this plane as well, but when I move the levers, the bicycle chains don't seem to move?

  • If you are concerned, be sure to contact Aerosoft on their support forum. They can help you a lot better than I can.

  • Thanks, the chains actually moved :p

My only thing with the plane is that it overheats quickly

  • It is supposed to. They did make a patch however to make it even more realistic. Those large radials had lots of heating issues.

  • More realistic meaning quicker overheating? heh

btw, I just made a video of flying the Hughes H1-B, check it out, watch?v=L4tmeHu9GOc

I kind of knew the approximate timing of engine overheating given a particular throttle percentage, so I was able to make it near the run way!

  • It isn't about the throttle, it is about the engine gauges. Oil temperature, carburetor heat, cylinder head temperature. These are the things you need to be watching when you adjust your throttle. Read the manual, it is very detailed. If you have specific questions, please ask.

  • oh yeah its all about them and thats how I know when im expecting an overheat :p

Im sure going to spend some time reading here and there. I also got the F-16 falcon.

Oh and the smoke the H1-B produces after overheat, lowers my FPS like crazy :S Do you know any solution or experienced the same thing?

  • It might be your video card, regardless ask on the forum. They can offer the best support for technical issues.

  • awsome vid i have this plane also where is this grass field at? i wanna fly there?

  • I wish I could remember. It was somewhere out in the desert in southern Cali.

  • what active camera do you use??

    nice editing!

  • Primarily EZWalk.

  • Well this is Mr. Hughes Hotrod and this baby gets hot, very hot if not handled well. One of the best planes for FSX, it´s a must have , u hear me a must have!!!!

  • Nice plane and video!

Out of all of your videos..I keep going back to this one for some reason..I mite buy this, song name? sounds really good I think thats why I keep coming back.

  • I made the video. Cody Bergland of Jaggyroad Films. Check my profile. Check my website. Check Aerosoft.

    Need I say more?

But thanks for calling me a liar.

  • on what resolution do u play the game?? :O looks awesome and is rendered frame by frame??? pls answer cause looks so awesome :D

  • Depends on the video. This was originally filmed in 1200x1024. The video was filmed real time, then relapsed so I could get some great angles.

  • u did an amazing job!

  • Hughes was a pimp.

  • man i wish they made thae same video with a gee bee

  • two thumbs up.nice pipes man.

  • Great video!!! Aerosoft always produces the best FSX add-ons!

  • Very nicely done, as always!

    Interesting aircraft there!

  • this is a finest sim I have ever seen, anywhere!!!

  • Thanks Granskare. I appreciate the comment.

  • nice video, nice plane, nice sounds, nice history, how better can it get?, im still trying to keep the engine on because i got one of these today, nice plane, i love it!

    good job dood!!!!

  • Thanks for buying and watching the video! Glad you like it!

  • great editing :) using more and more sound effects in your videos. i love it

  • Actually, I kinda used less in this video then in the past. Normally I whipe all the sounds and physically add them in myself.

  • Very, very nice indeed...! 5 stars :)

  • Thanks!

  • OMG so awesome...

I don´t konw anybody who makes videos which are as good as your ones...

    Maybe ramasurinen or TexFilms

  • Ironically, both of whom are my friends :D

Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it!

  • awesome dude! I loved how you reenacted the actual time trial for this plane.

    loved it!

  • Thanks! Yes, I tried to do it the best I could. Finding a suitable airport in the local Santa Ana locale also wasn't easy. However, all things considered I put this video together quite fast. It was a total riot to create.

    Thanks for watching Rule!

  • Best one yet! Keep up the good work.

  • Thanks friend! I appreciate the kind words.

  • ive flown this plane b-4 buy it now its soooooo nice REALLY!!! GO OUT AND DOWNLOAD IT AND BUY IT PLAY WITH IT NOW!!!

  • But.... it isn't out yet... :D

  • but we have shown it a lot to people, there are beta testers etc... So enough people have already flown it.

  • Yes, quite true indeed!

I can ring those sentiments. This plane is quite excellent! Certainly one of my favorite, if not THE favorite golden age aircraft I have in my collection.

  • hey ...im the fisrt one to watch it>>>nice plane

  • Thanks for watching Mady!
