In 16 years of climbing towers I have never seen anyone pull a bag of tools up on a rope below them. Too easy to get hung up. I have free climbed kvly in blanchard 3 times and kx twice, both over 2000 ft

@herecomethealiens If they have the safety hook in place, but lose their grip and fall, they may bang the head against the mast before or as the hook stops their fall. The helmet may save their lives in that situation.

Also if something is dropped, those underneath may get it on the head.

@jangofett1234 what sort of altitude? 2000 ft? too high for a helicopter? read up on that if Iwas you! And of couse the chopper pilots are skilled enough, check out the helicopters flying by electrical cables for maintenance, also rescue pilots skill.

so of course it could be done but helicopters are not used probably because it would be too expensive, so they just pay these nutters to climb up! I'm sure their wages are prety good though....

@yohoyoho123456 Retake physics; the further you are away from an object the weaker its gravity is, but that's irrelevant over such a small distance anyway. Also, air pressure is less the higher you go as there's less mass pressing down on you, so if anything he would feel lighter.
