  • i belive i was born to do it. im a 14yr old explorer, and when im 16 ill b a 3rd gen ff. hopefully ill get a paid ff job 2 like my dad. basicaly my grand father join Mechanicville fire in mechanicville ny. and my father did when he was 16,now hes dept chief, his father was chief, and got a paid job in saratoga. now im a explorer in mechanicville.

  • My dad is a volly firefigther for paola,ks he has 40 yrs now and March 15 will be 41 yrs i want be a Firefigther/Medic also 14, 4 more years cant wait!!

  • @Firefirgther15 you should check out a junior firefighter program almost all of our departments have one. Minimum age here is 15 yrs old.

  • @CamoDiesel Ya im going to sart to become a fire expoler in johnson county discrit 1 i hope for truck 121. Im a junior in paola i have a balst doing it.

  • this gave me the chills. im a volly firefighter in NC and ive seen and done many things teens my age dont want to do or see. my bestfriends car wreck, he died. 4th degree burns, carrying a guys leg off the road after he flipped his motorcycle. I dont say these things for sympathy but for remembrence of the ones who may have lost a loved one. Stay strong men. Everytime tht bell rings, Tone drops, Or computer talks, get on that truck and do what you love to do. Thanks to all that serve.

  • Thats amazing! I can't wait!

  • thats what i do every day

  • Its What I love to do. Nothing like helping out people who are in a time of need. Most of the time you don't know those people. Its what I was born to do and its what I've choosen to go to school for. Its kinda like my form of sex you know? After your first fire you want more ( I know its a bad thing to think that but i'm saying More oppertunities to help those in need) and at our town you only get the call sometimes months apart. Stay safe you guys and gals.

  • Was 27 years on, Medal of Valor, and other stuff. If you expect anyone other than a firefighter to understand what you go through, forget it. You don't tell your friends, family, priest even. You deal with it. You talk to your Brothers. And it hurts, and it takes away a part of you. We've all seen death, but we have actually helped. Made changes in peoples lives. How many 0900 to 1700hr people can say that. I know its hard, but thats why God doesn't let us do this alone. We are brothers!!

  • you also forgot the part where you get home from your senior prom and you just lay down at 3:45am and your pager gose off so you get up and go to it and you find your bestfriend laying in a ditch from runing off the road and fliping after a drunk driver had whent into his lane and the part where its your first call ever and its a wreck call and you get their and you see its the girl you been talking to for a couple weeks and you see a sharp curve sign going through her head that was my 1st call

  • @firefighter222100 I'm sorry for you. But its always a risk we take. Since I've joined its my worse fear is finding something like that happen to my friends and loved ones. my heart goes out to you fellow brother

  • i am shit scared of dying, its my worst fear ever, but i want to be a firefighter when im old enough because if i die saving someone elses life, then that worth dying for, i would give my life for anyone to live no matter who they are

  • @1andrewman1 a life you have isnt to give you have to think about your family and that includes your brothers you work beside every day and think of how a line of duty death effects everyone so think about that before you give your life we have to many FF deaths a year. Im glad you want to be a FF but dont spare your life thats not what being a FFS about. but good luck

  • I do do this, its my life and i enjoy every second of it.

  • Im a Volunteer firefighter for Newport, Pa NFC #10

  • My dad was a volunteer firefighter. He gave it up, he had 2 kids on the way. He never talks about it. He never talks about his best friend training that was with him, training, jumping out of buildings together in the pictures i saw (For training) He never talks about the day, his best friend never came out.

  • Hell yea and if i couldnt i sure as hell would try

  • 4 PEOPLE ARENT BUILT FOR IT

  • why do every one call us hero ? im am no hero i am a firefighter it is my life not my job

  • @theo1307tog amen brother

  • i was asked to describe myself and was called modest for claiming whatever i say will not change the way you think of me, im 16 and a volunteer fire fighter going for my medic degree, in all honesty i feel like well im not overwhelmed in a bad way at all when im out there helping someone breath or carrying a burnt kid out of the fire, theres nothing running thrugh my head that isnt running through all of my stations heads, bless it be to all my brothers and sisters out there

  • im no hero, im a fireman

  • I am a 16 year old Fire Explorer, and I have wanted to become a Firefighter since I was 18 months old and took my first station tour. I really do beleve that some people are born to do this, and I am one of them. It's not a job, it's not a career, it's a passion. and over 1 million others share it.

  • i can do it becaus i like to be there for some 1 when im saveing there lifes in a fire or a crash

  • I'm 15, this is what iwant to do, how can i prepare for this, and how can i get started

  • im a new volunteer firefighter, i start late this week and the emotions are mixed, but i can do it, knowing i have the potential to safe a life is what will drive me, but i know its going to push me.

  • Goodo. Please check out my new fire fighter 9/11 10th aniversity video. To all the heros, Thankyou! - the Bailiff

  • Dern right i can do it at first i was like yea this might be cool but you know not what lies ahead until you actually join and go threw those situations and its like the one guy said you have to trust everything but most of all just trust the good Lord that he will bring you back home safe.

  • what i dont get is when ppl tell u they want to become a firefighter paid or volunteer and then they dont evn try...if they try they could be good and love it...but if they dont then they are they will nvr know.....from my experience some friends will laugh and say tht u cant but others will be supportive and thts when u decide who to hang out with or to let into ur life...being a firefighter is really great and fun like its said to be...very rewarding and a great life choice..evryone stay safe.

  • Simple, yet powerful statement.

  • i know i speak for many of my brothers and sisters out there when i say i couldnt imagine doing anything else with my life

  • i'm a 21 year old volunteer, i've been a firefighter for 3 years now

  • great video, its hard work but very rewarding!

  • @417Aw

ive been in 1800 and my gear was fine i check twice

  • yes i could do it cause i have done it

  • Pitten, I like the way you put that. Im not saying that anyone can handle it, but with the right training and gear, it can be done.

  • why does everyone got to brag on here? "oh ive been in ten billion house fires hotter than a million degrees" i mean serously why does it matter do what you do because you love to do it not to brag about it. just a thought

  • Yes, I Can Do it !

  • YES!

  • Go to your fire dept and ask, how can I become one of you guys?

  • wow man amazing vid, i have always wanted to be a fire fighter since i was so little, now im 13 and my dreams are getting bigger of becoming one.. i think i couldn't handle some of those things u mentioned but once i tryed i would become more aware of some of it!!!

  • @Rsmvforfun

well good luck from a 17 year old vol. fireman

  • Learn to spell before you get to rookie school. Vollies are good guys and all that crap, but you make yourselves look really bad with this stuff. Sain??? It is SANE. Oh, quit buying that gear on eBay. It can not get certified in most cities anyway. (To the vollies who are insistent on buying their own gear. NFPA. Read a few of them.)

  • I'm almost 17 years old. and i want to become a firefighter. I have asthma but that's not stopping me.

  • @TheBabbygirl16

    watch out and good luck

    17 year old HCFD

  • im a volunteer fire fighter, i love doing it because you get to help people, you hear that tone go off your rushing out the door on the way to the fire dept. or the call its one of the best things to do i think

  • I'm a volly and I love it!!! Once it gets in your blood you cant get it out! This kinda thing isn't for everyone though. thanx for the vid!

  • Good video, but you forgot the part about carrying the body of the little two year old girl out of the burning buliding, because the parents forgot she was in there. Or the biggest one of all, the fact that you might never walk out.

  • @TheRhodehouse Yes, but you forgot about the part where you can't sleep for a month after cuting 3 dead bodies out a a car so mangled You cant eventell what color it is, one body of a little boy, one of a young mother, and one of a infant girl, while the father that caused the accident by paying more attention to his texts then his families saftey, sits quietly and cries with his wifes severed head in his lap!

  • Great video, but the text is hard to read

Trailer fire burned up as we had taken the door with our 1st Lt. we found the victim two (2) ft. from the door. we found the 2nd in the bathroom as we had taken the wall off. Mother&Daughter 88&55. I go for my 'hands on' training in 5 days. Jr. VFF's out there just know you cant save them all and its something you will have to live with.

  • I am 14 years of age, I live in Australia where there are many fires. In Victoria over 300 people died in fires in 2008, many were firefighters, giving their lives for the greater good. And thousands of homes were burned to the ground. I am going to be a firefighter when I'm older, I am dedicated.

Yes I could do it AND I AM GOING TO DO IT!

  • AND DON'T LET ANYONE STAND IN YOUR WAY!

  • DONT LET ANYBODY TAKE THAT AWAY FROM YOU, GO FOR IT 110%. poeple often tell you that your crazy for wanting to do it, of that your not good enough, screw them there only saying that beacuse they cant do it. STAY SAFE your brother ff in ny

  • I have been wanting to become a firefighter for a long time now and I have had a lot of people (include family and friends) say a firefighter? HA! Your a girl, you won't make it past training, but I am still going to go for it! Stay safe and rock on!

  • There is nothing better! Go for it, and NEVER let anyone dictate what you can, and cannot do! We have a woman on our Dept, and I'd go in with her without a single thought about her gender!

  • Good for you!!

  • Being a Volly is the best thing I've ever done: Township of Norwich- Oxford Centre Station #4, Ontario, Canada.

  • Nice vid

  • It's different after you get the training. I became a firefighter and fiends told me "wow, you're a hero". What? no... I just have the right training and the right gear.

When you trust your buddy, your gear and your training - when you train to your limits and beyond - you know what you can do.

I still respect firefighters greatly, same with cops, soldiers, PHTLS-people of all kinds. But it's not as scary after you become one, as before.

  • wow... amen brother u said it

  • it may not be as scary to us because we are educated but u ask the average person to run into a building that is involved, (even with gear on) they would think that u were crazy. cuz thats what we are my friend. crazy. and what about volunteers who might not even be educated?? just a thought

  • @pitten20 im 16 right now, is firefighting a good career? im going to be starting the explorers program soon, how should i prepare?

  • @xXBirDEXx125 I personally love firefighting,I love to hear the sirens wail, and the horn blare but most of all i love to hear everyone go back in service safe and sound.Im not telling you TO or NOT TO that your choice

  • @peterbiltfan08 well thank you, im possitive at this point that this is what i was meant to do with my life and am ready to do something of this magnitude, also thank you so much for what you do, i hope i can be like you soon i about a year

  • @pitten20 No lie... I can still remember when I was a probie in 2005... I was scared while we were going through training burns, extrications, and simulations... but once you've been there and done that it really is just another day at the 'office'
