Not make money. Particularly with retro collectors, putting in quarters (or shillings, or whatever) is a big part of the novelty. (Also, until about the late 80s, machines went out of attract mode when credits were added, potentially causing burn. Did cause it at arcades that had entry fees/machines on 'free play'.) I rarely had more than ten quarters or tokens at a time, so I don't necessarily miss that part.
