She has a lovely voice, but she needs to learn the words. I know this piece forwards and back and I double-checked my score. The correct words are:

In trutina mentis dubia fluctuant contraria lascivus amor et pudicitia.

Sed eligo quod video collum iugo prebeo;

ad iugem tamem suave, suave transeo.

This was recorded nearly 7 years ago in her International debut year, when she was just 16 years old. I think she knows all the words now.

Not to be rude, but knowing the words now is not the point. I was involved in vocal music for many years and would never have dreamed of performing a piece I didn't know hands down, much less at something as important as Bryn Terfel's festival. A performer has a responsibility to their audience to know their stuff -- that's why we practice so much.

I won't get into a lengthy debate about it, suffice it to say that every performer is human, and few performers of her age have been in the situation Hayley was in, back in 2003.

we just sang this last night at the freshers concert in the university of aberdeen. it was awesome. the idea behind it was to get all us music students to bond. im a music fresher and love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She sings it beautifully. It's a pity she makes a mistake at 0:35: She says "ad iugum tamen", where she should have sung "lascivus amor".
