@hellomynameis228 First you should lay you jeans flat make sure the waistband is line up evenly. Mark the side and measure the waistband to see how long your zipper should be. then get you zipper laying against the lower part of the inner waistband lining up side to side. Sew one side first from top to button of the zipper. than on the other side opening the zipper and sew it the same. lastly tuck in the zipper ends and sew it shut.

My purse turned out cool! I didn't put the flap on though. And I guess my legs are short, cuz my handle wasn't long enough. But I hot glued an old tie on to make the handle and then added iron-on patches and fancy pins to add interest. Thanks for the idea!

Problem: flap is plain

Solution: don't use plain pant legged pants

I'm thinking of a pair in particular I know I got rid of a year a go, with decorative stitching on the lower 4 or so. You could similarly add your own contrast stiching design.

Also, little girls jeans often have decorated pants legs and would make an awesome mini purse! These can often be found for cheep at yard sales & thrift stores.

i did this but a little different i cut out the two back pockets and sewed tham together and the took the pant leg and traced it cut it out and sewed it on the back and i there was a cool leather lable on the back or the jeans so i cut that out and sewed it on and i had an old braded jean belt lating around so i made that the strap

I would sew a large buckle and put a belt like piece through it on the front, and maybe decorate it a bit with some cloth bits, buttons, beads, stencil something, the flap is great except it is too plain. Maybe a few pockets from other jeans or pants, (dont have to bean jeans could be corderoy or even satin).
