I believe that song was written by Mac McAnally- one of the most under-rated songwriters of modern time. A truly wonderful singer/songwriter. Thanks for the post- great rendition

It's a Bourgeois. The script on the head stock has that distinctive slant. not sure about Ricky's strings. Any medium gauge is usually ok for bluegrass. try some different brands and see what works best with your guitar.

I heard this song for the first time last night in Glasgow as i was at Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder concert. There were a bunch of people from Shetland there they requested this song, now I know why. Fantastic concert, first class! This song is the one I remembered the most from the concert.
