@iStaLLionZ No he wasnt. Check the Wikipedia article in english, even there his rank "Gefreiter" is named. Corporal is equal to "Unteroffizier" and as you see "Gefreiter" is not equal to "Unteroffizier". He was a soldier with the lowest rank at the beginning of the war and he only got one promotion, so it is not possible that he reached the rank of a Corporal anyway. He was also raised as the "Böhmische Gefreiter" by Hindenburg later, when he was about to become the chancellor.

@iStaLLionZ It seems the power of the rank "Gefreiter" has changed in time. It was more powerful in time of WW1, mainly equal to Lance Corporal in the British Army. So when they translated it, he was "The Bohemian Corporal". If you search for "Gefreiter" and Corporal now you get what i tried to explain. "Gefreiter" has become less powerful in time and Corporal is equal to "Unteroffizier" today. The first doesnt command men but the second does. A bit difficult to see through there.

The problem with having a mod over an actual game in WW1 is that mod just can't bring out the benefits of trenches well enough. A good WW1 game should allow men to have good visibility over the enemy, in close range, and provide good cover in the trenches. That way, its forces advancing troops to either jump into trenches or use grenade to root out the enemy. This is something you can't do well but just lowering the land scape's sea level to create trenches.

@Lepper36 It was close to release but a psychotic developer ruined everything. In an enormous dick move, he took all his work (he was the coder, so everything was built on it) with him and left (over NOTHING, the guy is crazy).

So a new team picked it up and they are working on it, I've talked to one of the devs. They will release a 2.0 in Q1 2012.

im surprised there hasnt been any huge world war 1 game,especially a flying game, with the red baron and all, watching the movie made me inspired, i want to make a game sort of like this,where the biggest part would be the online, where you can join servers and choose your class(air, ground, vehicles,artillery, etc) and make it really realistic, then every few months i'd host a huge tournament with 200 people on one server, and just have it like a real battle, itd be crazy
