They say that the reader is supposed to imagine themselves as Bella, which is why she's so bland. A lot of people also drew a connection between Bella and the writer, Stephannie Meyer.

I like the point you made about how Twilight is easy to read. I think this not only attracts the younger crowd but also the older crowd. I have ran into my fair share of adults who have enjoyed the series.

You get the fans who are only in it for the hot characters.

Also, I'm a fan of the Buffy series. =D

If you're into books, 13 Bullets by David Wellington is a very good book. It's almost like it's laughing at Twilight. Characters try to reason and make deals with the vampies, and they just laugh and rip off their heads with one hand. And it describes the vampires as ugly, pale, bald monsters with teeth like sharks and beady black eyes. None of that crucifix, holy water shit works either. It's really great, anybody that loves real vampires should look into it.

Buffy was a classic. I love alot of the GOOD vampire stories, but none of this Twilight crap. Twilight = watered down angsty teen crap for dumbass cheerleaders.

And yes, sparkly vampires is just...no. Be glad they aren't real, because if they were, my .454 Casull would need some cleaning.

I dont know about you guys, but for one im sick of vampires. I mean, i still love me some dracula and some interview and yknow what, as much as i hate to admit it, buffy is actually pretty cool. Blade, underworld, all those are good. and daybreakers kicked ass. But fuck dude, vampire shit is everywhere and i mean everywhere. Im tired of it. who cares? since when did vampires mean oh your so gothic and deep? god i hate little girls they ruin the standards of entertainment.

the ONLY thing i dont like about Buffy and Angel is the fact that the Vampires faces change out of proportion. but i know why its like that. other wise...

im kind of in between with the whole twilight:love it or hate it controversy.many of the points u brought up r very good points 2 make,but its easy 2 tel tht u havnt studied the topic.i dont believe the book ws terrible,unorigional perhaps,but all in all it was a good book.saying that,i also enjoy the anne rice books.and w/ what u wer saying about the vampires having 2 b hot,tht was explained in the book as being a hunting trait.everything about them invites u in, including thier looks

but the truly pathetic part about that is they didnt even kill the humans, well at least in Bella and Edwards case. so really, i still dont see the point in that. to me, its just another way of making preteens and teenage girls go crazy and attract a larger fanbase.

in Edward and Bella's case, only the Cullen clan doesn't kill the humans. they feed on animals because they don't want to be monsters. the other vampires however, kill plenty of humans. the volturie for example have humans brought to them so they can feed. massive tours of humans just to feed those who remain within the walls if their city.

well as far as the cullens go, it just makes them even more of pussies. seriously. i cant get past the sparkling, and they dont even kill humans? like what is that? plus theyre the most important of any of those vampires in the series, so what the other ones do arent as big of a focus. its ruined everything that was good about vampires.

i like the fact she is killing vampires and is in love with one ironic but its the small things about the show that get to me

Mmm.. There's this book called "Strange Angels" by Lili St Crow. It's pretty awesome, but I'm not sure if it's teen or adult based. I mean, the main characters are teens, but it's very dark and action packed.

i agree once again tht Twilight isn't tht great. the vampire books ive been reading from Charlaine Harris came before Twilight also, and there are some similarities in them but the Sookie Stackhouse series is much better. the show is better than the Twilight movie too.
