The Black Canyon is awesome! Totally different in person just like the Grand Canyon. I've seen both and both are impressive in unique ways. If you can see them both!
I wouldn't call it stupid.. But only because I don't think he's really worried about any of his dickhead highschool friends teasing to push him off the ledge or anything.
But yeah, I know what you mean.. I hate heights too and I was cringing everytime he held the camera over edge... lol
My son was found 1800 ft. below Chasm View in Sept. 2008 here and it still brings tears to my eyes. He was 21 majoring in political science at UNC in Greeley, CO. I plan to take dried flowers tomorrow to memorialize him. This is one very awesome canyon!!!!!
really you live in gunnison? thats super cool! my last name is gunnison i geuss my great great great great great great...grandfather found the town or something i dont really know
I live in nearby ouray, but a quick history note. John Gunnison was an explorer who first mapped the area known as gunnison he was there less than a week before moving on in his mapping duties, he was killed by indians a few months after leaving the area.
great video. I almost get vertigo every time I watch it.
thanks for all your videos championing rationalism. the election tonight seems a step in the right direction. my hope is for a quickly-appointed science adviser to help with policy instead of allowing the policy to determine the science.
I miss your adventures =( your little trip around America made my summer. Just started looking at the black canyon for my geography As levels and thought I'd look your footage up again =)
With all your travels through visitor centres & tourist information booths in national parks, have you come across the creation story either as an info centre or having material or pamphlets available which provide "true" detail of the occurrence, such as the Grand Canyon?
On the chance you might say no, I think it rather lazy & lacks credibility on their part to not inform the public at these sites of the "correct" formation of the landscape.
That flight over the canyon has to be one of the most epic aerial video montages of your entire vacation. Nice easy way to get altitudes of over 1000 ft. without going out of range!
From the video description it sounds like you're roughing it! Hang in there.
...And thanks for risking your life near the edge to give us a nice view!
How hard do you think it would be to set up a live feed of the video from the airplane and have goggles so that you could control the plane as if you were flying in it? That would be amazing, but probably highly expensive.
That's something to visit next time I'm in the US.
About all the 'not dieing', you'd almost think that if there was a god, he/she/it likes you better than, say, your friend VFX. As if he likes what you have to say... :-)
I bet you were sweating while your plane went over that canyon. Hard to retrieve the thing if it fell in there. Cool stuff. Thanks for the fantastic tour, again. Enjoy. Beer is still cold in my fridge, waiting for your desert parched lips. Cheers.
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I FUCKING LOVE YOU, GREAT CHOCIE OF MUSIC< LOVE THIS TUNE SOOOOOOO MCUH. Goes with the footage soooooooo well, great work Tf00t

In any case, fantastic vid of a fantastic view. 5*

This canyon was clearly carved in 5 minutes by the waters of the flood.....actually 2 minutes if it took 5 minutes for the Grand Canyon. :)
I bet you were biting your nails when the plane was flying over the canyon :) :)
Great footage as always!!
